💙 PROSTATE UNITED – FOUR YEARS, ONE INCREDIBLE JOURNEY!
🏃 4 years
💪 628km / 390 miles
💙 £20,585 raised for @ProstateUK
And that’s a wrap on my fourth and final @prostateunited challenge!
What an incredible experience and journey these last four years have been.
I want to say a massive, heartfelt THANK YOU to each and every person who has supported me along the way. Whether you’ve liked, followed, shared my posts, sent messages of encouragement or simply helped spread awareness, it has genuinely meant so much
And to every single person who has donated, I really cannot thank you enough. Your kindness and generosity have been absolutely incredible, and I’m genuinely overwhelmed that together we’ve raised £20,585 for Prostate Cancer UK as part of team @LCFC #LCFC
What started as a personal challenge has become something I’ll remember and be proud of for the rest of my life.
The running might be over, and the mullet can finally be retired 😂, but the importance of raising awareness and supporting the fight against prostate cancer certainly isn’t.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you all. You’ve helped make these four years very special. 💙🦊

And that is a wrap and I am now officially retired. 31 days of October and 31 5km runs completed for @prostateunited raising money and awareness for @ProstateUK as part of team @LCFC #LCFC
What an amazing experience and journey these last 4 years have been, I have ran at King Power Stadium, Seagrave training complex twice and ran with Filbert Fox and Andy King memories that will last a lifetime
However the reasons I did this challenge was to raise money and awareness for this amazing cause, this is a disease that affects 1 in 8 men in their lifetime, a man dies every 45 minutes and over 12.000 men die of this disease every year in the UK
So please share and if you can spare a quid or two then please click the link to my just giving page below. Over and out 🖤🩵

My mate got divorced last year and went full midlife crisis, formed a band and self funded an album. It's bloody awful, he can't sing and plays guitar like he's trying to saw it in half. But I tell him it's great and I go to all his gigs, cos he's my pal and I love him.

We’ve had a number of questions over the last few weeks asking whether Chorley FC will be opening again on Christmas Day…
and after talking with the team at the @ChorleyFCCF, the answer became very clear.
Last year we heard from so many people who said that if we hadn’t opened our doors, they would have spent the day alone. That’s something we just couldn’t turn our backs on.
So yes, we’re opening again this Christmas Day, from noon until 4pm.
If you want somewhere to be, somewhere warm, friendly and full of a bit of Christmas spirit, you’ll be more than welcome at Victory Park. We’ll make sure you’ve got something to eat, a warm drink, and good company.
We’ve got you, Chorley. 🖤🤍

Lads, study the photo.
Stretching every sinew to make that ball, like his life depended on it.
On the tips of his toes on his trailing leg, just managing to poke the ball home with the studs of his right foot.
Unbelievable.

Rest in peace, Patricia Routledge 🙏🏻
In memory of her, I encourage everyone to read these words of hers from February last year.
Whether young or old, you're bound to get something out of it.

"I’ll be turning 95 this coming Monday. In my younger years, I was often filled with worry — worry that I wasn’t quite good enough, that no one would cast me again, that I wouldn’t live up to my mother’s hopes. But these days begin in peace, and end in gratitude.
My life didn’t quite take shape until my forties. I had worked steadily — on provincial stages, in radio plays, in West End productions — but I often felt adrift, as though I was searching for a home within myself that I hadn’t quite found.
At 50, I accepted a television role that many would later associate me with — Hyacinth Bucket, of Keeping Up Appearances. I thought it would be a small part in a little series. I never imagined that it would take me into people’s living rooms and hearts around the world. And truthfully, that role taught me to accept my own quirks. It healed something in me.
At 60, I began learning Italian — not for work, but so I could sing opera in its native language. I also learned how to live alone without feeling lonely. I read poetry aloud each evening, not to perfect my diction, but to quiet my soul.
At 70, I returned to the Shakespearean stage — something I once believed I had aged out of. But this time, I had nothing to prove. I stood on those boards with stillness, and audiences felt that. I was no longer performing. I was simply being.
At 80, I took up watercolour painting. I painted flowers from my garden, old hats from my youth, and faces I remembered from the London Underground. Each painting was a quiet memory made visible.
Now, at 95, I write letters by hand. I’m learning to bake rye bread. I still breathe deeply every morning. I still adore laughter — though I no longer try to make anyone laugh. I love the quiet more than ever.
I’m writing this to tell you something simple:
Growing older is not the closing act. It can be the most exquisite chapter — if you let yourself bloom again.
Let these years ahead be your TREASURE YEARS.
You don’t need to be famous. You don’t need to be flawless.
You only need to show up — fully — for the life that is still yours.
With love and gentleness,
Patricia Routledge

Once more, rest in peace. 🤍
