I’ve pointed out the flaws I could find in the iPhone Duo so far, but outdoor visibility of the main display ain’t one of them, at least it doesn’t appear to be an issue to me.
It’s easily visible, and though I won’t be watching movies or reading much outdoors, if I ever wanted to, that’s easily possible.
Instead of buying Apple’s iPhone Duo case, I got this one from Elago for Rs 1799.
And it looks so CLEAN 😭
It’s way softer, way more comfortable to hold, and has the same 2-part design.
I’m particularly not a fan of covering the front, it looks weird, so I’m going to use just the rear cover.
Time to cover up the iPhone Duo 🤩
Ordered two Elago cases, have always been a fan of their covers, let’s see how this one looks and feels.
Pressing the iPhone Duo TouchID button was getting annoying, so I registered almost the entire thumb area, gets so much easier this way 🫡
This iPhone Duo Netflix reflections thingy is awesome, even genius I’d say.
But, it doesn’t do you any good when you are watching the content. Instead, it becomes distracting within seconds.
If you keep it on your desk or if you are keeping it on you when lying down, you’d seriously want the lower half of the display to turn all black.
What I’ve observed so far is this.
The iPhone Duo UI is neither optimised well enough for left-handed users, nor for right handed users, at least not for now.
Some parts of it dominate in one direction, while others do the exact opposite. Using it with both hands, however, is a very intuitive experience.
Another missed opportunity here.
The iPhone Duo makes accessing the Control Center so easy. It’s just the tap of a button.
But, accessing the notifications still needs to stretch all the way from the top left.
There’s empty space right below this new Wi-Fi/battery/signal thingy, a simple toggle here would have made it so much more convenient.
The biggest issue (in my opinion) is not the fact that apps aren’t optimized yet, that would eventually be fixed.
The biggest issue is the fact that Apple could easily have enabled the left swipe gesture on this new form factor. It would have made things so much easier.
While the entire UI keeps pushing you towards the right side of the screen for obvious reasons, you still need to reach to the far left to go back. Such a missed opportunity.
