Fantastic video about my wonderful @CHI_Ireland colleague @AlisonSweeneyMT and her journey to becoming senior music therapist in @TempleStreetHos Alison was the year ahead of me in UL and I'm very lucky to still work alongside such a kind, talented powerhouse of a therapist.
At UL, Alison Sweeney found a way to marry her love of music with her fascination for human behaviour.
As Senior Music Therapist in @templestreethos, Alison helps young people navigate their hospital journey through music therapy.

Do you work in cancer care in Ireland? IPSON (Irish Psycho-Social Oncology Network @IRLpson) would be grateful if you could complete a quick 15-minute anonymous survey: nursingandmidwifery.fra1.qua…. Please share with colleagues. Thank you.
It was such a privilege to have had the chance to sing with Christy Dignam. I'll never forget the goosebumps the first time hearing him sing acoustically a few feet away in rehearsal.. A beautiful voice and human. Rest in Peace 🙏🎶

Thank you Alison!! It goes without saying that without the support and collaboration of the @WeHSCPs the music therapy service would not have been as successful as it has been to date! More progression is needed both nationally and locally! Thank you !!
Well done Róisín & sincere gratitude for all you do to educate & advocate for #musictherapy. The evidence speaks for itself but it's still necessary we keep getting the message out there:music therapy is an effective evidence based pyschosocial intervention accross the lifespan!
