here’s everything @ploid_ai found on Abdulrahman Alfozan (@alfozan), the openai engineer charged with bugging an exec conference room 35, saudi national. MIT computer science 2011–2016, then a masters in data science at berkeley 2023–2025 2015: systems engineer at reach labs (YC S15), building long-range wireless charging 2017–2022: senior systems engineer at meta on data infra. core spark contributor, led the spark-on-velox design, spoke at spark + AI summit 2022–2025: founding engineer at nash (YC, a16z-backed logistics AI) 2025: venture partner at RAED ventures (part-time), then engineering lead on openai’s agents platform starting sept 2025. co-author on the original gradio paper too he allegedly planted a listening device behind a TV in an exec conference room. openai found it sept 30, caught him on camera checking it, fired him + FBI arrested him oct 9. first court appearance today, detention hearing oct 19 all of that took one search on @ploid_ai
We discovered a sophisticated recording device that was hidden inside one of our offices. We used our models to understand the device and where it had come from, identifying that a specific employee had planted it a few days earlier. We referred the matter to the FBI, and we’re grateful to the agents and prosecutors who moved quickly to make an arrest. The FBI’s investigation is ongoing and we will continue to support their work. At this time, we have no indications of this individual inappropriately accessing or exfiltrating model weights, source code, or customer data. The employee was terminated. We take protecting our technology, data, and people seriously, and as a matter of national importance. Our security program is designed to protect against a wide range of threat actors, from insider risks to cybercriminals to nation states, and this case is an example of how AI can help address these sophisticated security threats.

wow what a read
Matt Farley is the most prolific singer-songwriter of all time. He's written over 26,000 songs and makes $200k/year off music streaming royalties. He's also: - made 18 movies - written 5 books - been profiled by NYT and Wired He's best known as "The Poop Song Guy". I watched him perform live at "Burp. Fest" and he opened with "Diarrhea Bounce Back". "Experts have declared that Matt Farley is a genius." is something I can only say with quotes, because he tweeted it himself. I spent a week with him in suburban Massachusetts, going on a 15 mile "epic walks", attending his homeschool kids talent show, and listening to his greatest hits over 5 hours of car rides, with him pausing to explain his "genius" every other minute. I've never been more inspired by anyone. Just by being himself, he's given me more confidence in my ideas and what could come from putting them out into the world. He's independently discovered and embodied "do things that don't scale" and "ramen profitability" without reading Paul Graham. We talked about creative exhaustion from AI, how inspiration is everywhere, "reverse stealing" to promote his music before the internet, and why artists fake being sad for attention. I wrote for @sfalexandria_ on how and why he puts in such an overwhelming amount of effort into his creative process. sfalexandria.com/posts/matts…

this is me! figment was so fun, but i'm gonna work on something bigger & better. more soon!
This illustrates the challenge with personal agent unit economics. It’s hard to play the game without a powerful patron in either venture dollars or lab partnerships.

This is Dynamite. It takes any website & dynamically personalizes it for every visitor, so they see what is most likely to convert. Within 300ms. It installs on ANY site with one line of javascript.

Did you know the labs are still exploring making swarms that act as one, even after the HF incident? Why is that? What alternatives do we have? I wrote up some thoughts below ↓

Exactly → womp.com
We are now entering into an era where any product can be created exactly to a consumer's preferences & needs. I vibe-fabricated a dog door with a wifi-controlled lock, perfectly to the specifications & design of my house. I know nothing about metal fabrication or electrical engineering. It's now getting manufactured and delivered in 2 weeks -- for almost the same cost if I bought a mass-produced item off-the-shelf.
