Everyone remembers the legendary Wembley performance, but the real magic was captured here. During this rehearsal, George Michael already knew his partner was living with HIV, yet he sang with every ounce of emotion in his heart. Look closely at David Bowie in the background—he knew he was witnessing something truly unforgettable. This is what a real star looks like. ✨

I saw Charlie frequently when I lived in Tennessee. He lived a couple of towns away from me. He was a fixture. 🎵🙏🎶👍☮️
Charlie Daniels would have turned 90 today (born 1936). “The Devil Went Down to Georgia", live at Saratoga, the year it went to No. 1 on the country charts. What a legend.

I love that David Bowie's and Brian May's reactions were captured when Annie Lennox gives it everything, and that George Michael singing along in the back! Fantastic video and the very best music.

Playmate Karen McDougal says Donald Trump tried to pay her right after they had sex. She refused. Ten years later, a tabloid run by his friend paid her $150,000 to stay quiet. It was June 2006. Trump invited her to dinner in his bungalow at the Beverly Hills Hotel. He was married, and Barron was a few months old. At the end of the night, he held out money. Twelve years later on CNN, the memory still hurt: "I looked at him and I said, that's not me, I'm not that kind of girl." She cried all the way home, but the affair went on for ten months. Then McDougal ended it. In 2016 Trump ran for president, and the story suddenly had a price. That August, the National Enquirer bought it for $150,000. The paper's boss, David Pecker, was a longtime friend of the candidate. Not a word was printed. In the tabloid world this is called catch and kill. That November, Trump won the White House. In 2018 McDougal broke her silence anyway. She sued to void the deal and went on CNN before any judge ruled. The tabloid backed off and let her hold on to the $150,000. In December 2018, prosecutors revealed the Enquirer's owner had admitted it paid her to keep the story away from voters. Trump denies the affair. First she refused his money. A decade later she took $150,000 to stay quiet, kept it, and talked anyway. Hypocrite, or the smartest player in the room?

He's been dead since 1994, but that song will live on for decades more. It was iconic. RIP Harry.

What's really stealing your kids' souls is that little electronic portal of anonymous evil that's glued to their hands. No one's putting a razor blade in an apple. The problem is Apple, the company. #Halloween

Me dejaron atrás cuando ya era viejo. Sucio, solo, sin entender por qué. — Hasta que unas manos lo levantaron y no se fueron. Hoy, en su hogar para siempre, el abuelo corre y juega como un cachorro.

When Dolly Parton wanted to cover “Stairway to Heaven,” Robert Plant replied, “Of course you can, you’re Dolly Parton.” 🤠🎸 She turned a rock legend into her own country-gospel masterpiece!

Chris Rock reveals the real reason he didn’t fight Will Smith back after getting slapped at the Oscars. Chris says he was raised right, and his parents taught him never to fight in front of white people. 😂 But the beef goes back further than the Oscars slap. Years earlier, Jada Pinkett Smith said Chris shouldn’t host the Oscars because Will wasn’t nominated for Concussion. Chris says she started the whole thing, so he had to finish it—and somehow, her husband ended up giving him a concussion. He says he spent his whole life loving Will and rooting for him, but things have changed so much that he watched Emancipation just to see Will get whooped.

The Night Legends Left Their Egos at the Door On the night of January 28, 1985, at A&M Studios in Los Angeles, a handwritten sign was placed outside the recording studio: “Check your ego at the door.” No one could have known that those few simple words would become the opening line to one of the most memorable moments in music history. Walking through that door were artists who could fill virtually any stage on their own: Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Diana Ross, Ray Charles, and dozens of other leading names. They were accustomed to spotlights, roaring crowds, and being the center of attention. But that night, there was no single star. No red carpet. No private stage. No distance between the legends. They stood side by side, wearing headphones, holding sheets of lyrics, and waiting for their turn. These were artists who were used to thousands of people listening to them. Now, they had to listen to one another. Perhaps that was the most remarkable thing about that recording session. When Fame Knows How to Step Aside We Are the World was created during a devastating famine in Ethiopia, with the goal of raising money for humanitarian relief. Every artist involved had already achieved success and earned a place in music history. They did not need another hit to prove who they were. But they had something else they could give: their voices and their influence. Watching the behind-the-scenes footage, it is easy to forget that these were artists who had once commanded the attention of the entire world. Bob Dylan worked through his harmony parts. Cindy Lauper had to adjust jewelry that could make unwanted noise. Tina Turner patiently waited for her part. Everyone rehearsed, listened, and worked together to make the song sound like one collective voice. No one needed to stand out above everyone else. Because when the purpose is big enough, individual fame naturally becomes smaller. That may be the deepest beauty of We Are the World: people who had so much to hold on to chose to use what they had to give something away. When Music Becomes Something Greater Than Itself Nearly four decades have passed. Many of the artists in that room have since died, while those who remain have traveled through most of their lives. Yet the old footage can still make people stop and watch. Not simply because it brings back memories of a golden era of music. But because it reminds us that talent means the most when it is used for something larger than the person who possesses it. Perhaps the true strength of a person is not measured by how high they can rise to be admired by others, but by how willing they are to use their position to help someone else stand. That is why We Are the World has never been just a song. It is the memory of an extraordinary night when legends of music walked through the same door, left their egos behind, and raised their voices for people they might never meet. And perhaps that is when music is at its most beautiful—when a microphone is no longer used to make one person shine, but becomes a voice for those who need to be heard.
