i always felt like lea didn’t get the full script for this scene because i genuinely see her reacting as lea and not rachel. like she couldn’t believe her ears
the glee reboot will never be able to top this

Btw here are the lifetime greenhouse gas emissions of all common power sources (the units are equivalent grams of carbon dioxide per kilowatt-hour of electricity): Wind, 11 Nuclear, 12 Hydro, 24 Geothermal, 38 Solar, 45 Biomass, 230 Natural gas, 490 Distillate oil, 650 Coal, 820
Wind energy having ¼ the lifetime carbon emissions of solar energy - 11 equivalent grams of CO₂ per kilowatt-hour, versus 45 - but only being feasible at huge scale (solar scales down linearly, but wind scales quadratically) further demonstrates collective action’s superiority

Best solution, in a nutshell: Grid-scale wind turbines + grid-scale battery energy storage systems + opportunistically-installed solar panels, on rooftops and as shade-providing canopies + geothermal base load power, via wells drilled with new techniques like mmWave lasers.

Nuclear fusion power seems silly to me when the initial investment is so astronomical that you’d get a much better return by instead excavating geothermal wells, which can actually be dug ANYWHERE! (It’s only a matter of how much it costs to dig deeply enough in a given spot.)

We must use society’s resources to construct vast arrays of enormous wind turbines, built offshore when feasible and onshore when not, as well as fields filled with gigawatts of batteries to buffer the wind turbines’ intermittent power output so wind energy is usable 24/7/365.

We must also cover as many sidewalks, lakes, reservoirs, rivers, parking lots, and roads with solar panels as feasible, providing both shade against the sun’s heat AND gobs of electricity

Can’t even blame her cus sometimes you need to stunt on these hoes
Nisha might actually be the dumbest avatar because why will you say you are the avatar in a world where people hate avatars 🤦🏽‍♂️

I’m like 90% sure Empress Yeshe is going to grant asylum to the twins, Jae is going to accompany or join them, Jae is going to be taken under Empress Yeshe’s proverbial wing, and Jae is going to earn the traditional arrow tattoos prior to escorting the twins to the other havens
You can’t stop the eternal motherfucking wind baby Air Nomad culture is indestructible Aang would be so happy. His culture survived an actual genocide and the apocalypse. That’s so mfn dope My glorious Airbending empress Yeshe

And yes I do now think it’s 99% likely the Cataclysm in #AvatarSevenHavens was caused by humans using spirit energy as a power source, thereby draining the vitality of the Spirit World and maybe also the Physical World. I bet Korra’s attack on Republic City actually saved it!

I also want to know why Korra SMILED while attacking the spirit energy infrastructure. Had she reached the end of her rope, and felt gleeful at finally lashing out rather than continuing to debate stubborn humans? Was it Raava’s righteous rage on behalf of other spirits’ pain?

Oh, and that flashback is the first time we’ve ever seen Avatar State metalbending, which means Pavi/Nisha will gain the ability to metalbend when in the Avatar State thanks to being able to channel Korra’s skills. I can imagine that little detail becoming VERY relevant!
