#Ethiopia’s Alliance for Survival has unveiled a new strategy following its sixth council meeting, reaffirming its opposition to Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s government.
The coalition plans to coordinate the activities of its member organisations, strengthen military cooperation and expand diplomatic engagement with regional and international partners.
It also called for an inclusive political transition, accusing the ruling Prosperity Party of fuelling domestic conflicts and threatening stability across the Horn of Africa.
#Sudan has briefed foreign diplomatic missions on drone attacks it says were launched from #Ethiopian territory against civilian infrastructure.
Khartoum accuses Ethiopia of allowing its territory to be used for #RSF operations, while alleging that the #UAE continues to provide military support to the paramilitary group.
Sudanese authorities have presented technical flight data and satellite imagery to support their accusations and reaffirmed their right to defend national security under international law.
The #UAE's campaign for Lana Nusseibeh has encountered significant resistance at the #UN Security Council.
Her first straw poll delivered just 7 encouragement votes, 6 discouragements and 2 neutral responses. The result does not eliminate her from the race.
As #Sudan's El-#Fasher continues to bear the consequences of RSF atrocities, human rights groups are demanding scrutiny of her record and Abu Dhabi's alleged support for the militia.

#Sudan's Transitional Sovereignty Council Chairman, General @aftaburhan sent a message of condolences to #Spain's King Felipe VI following a deadly train collision in Toledo.
Burhan expressed his sympathy to the Spanish people and the families of the victims of the tragedy.
Another reported drone attack has targeted #Sudan’s energy infrastructure in Red Sea State.
The Rapid Support Forces (#RSF), accused of receiving military support from the #UAE, reportedly struck the Haya electricity substation, which remains under construction.
The incident follows a series of drone attacks on power and fuel facilities across Sudan.
#Sudan is stepping up its diplomatic opposition to #UAE nominee Lana Nusseibeh's bid to lead the United Nations.
As Politico highlights the growing dispute, Khartoum is questioning whether a senior Emirati diplomat who previously denied allegations of UAE support for the #RSF can independently lead the #UN.
The massacres in El-#Fasher have made accountability a central issue. Sudan's representatives are demanding answers about the credibility and independence of the next UN Secretary-General.#NoToLana

#Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council Chairman, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, delivered a speech in Moscow after receiving an honorary doctorate from the #Russian State University for the Humanities.
Burhan thanked President Vladimir #Putin for Russia’s support during Sudan’s war, describing #Moscow as an important partner.
He invited Russian companies to invest in Sudan, saying they would receive priority in recognition of Russia’s support, while calling for stronger economic, scientific and academic cooperation.
Lana Nusseibeh speaks of urgent action and relentless diplomacy at the UN. But what about the thousands massacred by the #RSF in #Sudan's El-Fasher?
Human Rights Watch has accused her of repeatedly denying evidence of #UAE support for the RSF.
Her first Security Council straw poll delivered just 7 votes of encouragement against 6 discouragements.
The victims of El-#Fasher deserve accountability, not another diplomatic speech.

At a time of deepening divisions and urgent crises, the United Nations must act with greater urgency. It was built to help the world agree, and I believe I can keep that promise alive through active, relentless diplomacy anchored in the Charter.
I am grateful to the members of the Security Council who supported my candidacy, and to the many Member States across the wider UN membership that have publicly expressed their encouragement. I appreciate the opportunity to continue to engage with Member States, listen to their priorities, and make my case as this important process moves forward.
#Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council Chairman, General @aftaburhan , has received an honorary doctorate from the Russian State University for the Humanities in #Moscow.
The honour was awarded in recognition of his contribution to strengthening Sudan-#Russia relations during his visit for the Third Russia-Africa Summit.
Speaking at the ceremony, Burhan thanked President Vladimir Putin for Russia’s continued support for Sudan and reaffirmed his commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation.
Ireland's Sinn Féin party has called on the government to oppose #UAE nominee Lana Nusseibeh's bid to become UN Secretary-General.
Foreign affairs spokesperson Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire condemned Abu Dhabi's alleged role in supplying weapons, drones and military equipment to #Sudan's #RSF, citing the massacres in El-#Fasher.
He accused Nusseibeh of repeatedly denying evidence of Emirati support for the paramilitary group and demanded that Ireland take a clear stand against her candidacy.#NoToLana

#UAE nominee Lana Nusseibeh received only seven encouragement votes in the #UN Security Council's seventh straw poll, according to preliminary figures reported by PassBlue.
Six members opposed her candidacy, while two expressed no opinion. Costa Rica's Rebeca Grynspan secured 11 encouragement votes.
Nusseibeh's result comes amid growing criticism over her repeated denials of evidence linking the UAE to #Sudan's #RSF, whose atrocities in El-Fasher have prompted international demands for accountability.

UN Security Council 7th straw poll preliminary results:
Rebeca Grynspan of Costa Rica: 11 encourage, 4 discourage, 0 no opinion
Rafael Grossi of Argentina: 9 encourage, 4 discourage, 2 no opinion
Carolyn Rodrigues Birkett of Guyana: 8 encourage, 6 discourage, 1 no opinion
Lana Nusseibeh of UAE: 7 encourage, 6 discourage, 2 no opinion
While #Sudan's El-#Fasher remains scarred by #RSF massacres, the UAE is promoting Lana Nusseibeh for the UN's highest office.
Emirati academic Abdulkhaleq Abdulla is defending her candidacy, while a promotional campaign highlights support from 24 countries.
But Human Rights Watch has accused Nusseibeh of repeatedly dismissing evidence linking Abu Dhabi to the RSF.
The central controversy remains unanswered: How can the #UN maintain its independence and credibility when a candidate faces such serious accusations concerning Sudan's atrocities? #NoToLana

#Sudan's Sovereignty Council Chairman @aftaburhan met #Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin in Moscow on October 30.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to elevating bilateral relations to the level of a strategic partnership.
#Putin also presented Sudan with a cooperation roadmap covering potential joint projects, as Moscow and Khartoum seek to deepen their political and economic ties.
Former #UN investigator Dino Mahtani has sharply criticised UAE diplomat Lana Nusseibeh's bid to lead the United Nations.
Mahtani says her diplomatic mission dismissed evidence of more than 160 illicit Somali charcoal shipments to the #UAE, despite #UN sanctions aimed at disrupting Al-Shabaab's financing networks.
He draws a direct parallel with Nusseibeh's rejection of findings concerning UAE-linked support for Sudan's RSF, arguing that her record raises fundamental questions about UN independence and accountability.

#Sudanese reports indicate that troops under Major General Siddiq Abdelrahman Ander are progressively defecting from the Rapid Support Forces (#RSF) and joining the Sudanese Armed Forces.
The reported movement follows #Ander's public break with #Hemedti's forces, adding to a series of departures from the paramilitary group. The number of troops involved remains unverified.
#Belgian newspaper De Morgen has raised questions about the UAE's growing influence across Africa and its ambition to lead the United Nations through Lana Nusseibeh's candidacy.
The nomination comes amid documented concerns over #UAE-linked networks supporting #Sudan's RSF, whose atrocities in El #Fasher have drawn international condemnation.
Human rights groups are questioning whether Nusseibeh's previous rejection of these findings can be reconciled with the independence expected of the @UN 's next leader. #NoToLana

A vote for Lana Nusseibeh is a vote for peace? Tell that to the victims of El #Fasher.
#UN investigators documented atrocities bearing the hallmarks of genocide, while Human Rights Watch criticised Nusseibeh for repeatedly dismissing evidence of #UAE-linked support for the #RSF.
Peace is not a diplomatic slogan. A candidate seeking to lead the United Nations must answer serious questions about accountability, not hide behind carefully crafted public relations. #NoToLana

Senior Rapid Support Forces (RSF) commander Siddiq Ander has announced his defection from the paramilitary group in #Sudan.
In an exclusive video obtained by Al Jazeera, Ander confirmed his decision to leave the #RSF.
His announcement adds to a growing series of defections involving senior officers and field commanders, raising further questions about cohesion within #Hemedti's forces.
#Sudanese Prime Minister's adviser Muslih Nassar accused the countries backing the #RSF of shifting from military pressure to economic warfare after failing to force #Sudan into submission on the battlefield.
He alleged that electricity disruptions, fuel shortages and attacks on essential services were being used to weaken public morale. Nassar singled out the #UAE as a principal sponsor and accused Ethiopia of allowing drone attacks to be launched from its territory.
