ALT We've been using the Unity engine for almost 10 years now. We used to love the engine and the company behind it. They did great things to make game development accessible and efficient. Two days ago, Unity under its current leadership announced their intent to completely change our terms, and they intend to do so unilaterally and retroactively. They intend to switch from a subscription fee to a model based on how many times our games are installed. That's right, not how much money we make or how many copies we sell - but how many times the game is installed. In preparation for this action, Unity also quietly removed a clause from their license that allowed us to reject changes to the agreement as long as we don't update the engine version that we use.
