I still really can't believe that they semi-implemented my favorite NPC ship after I was totally deluded about it for like a year

Huh? Huh? A gift of a watch? Huh? Huh? Huh? Kept forever, even after it was broken? Huh? (Hopping up and down, chewing on my own hand)

It's so good. I miss them. I should think about clock wood more often

q: are you a self-taught artist?? a: Yeah. The most formal education I did was a couple semesters of talented art in high school. But I've always been drawing!!! My whole life!!! I love to draw!!! revospring.net/@sunopticon/a…

TBC it was mostly focused on gesturals and drawing accurately by eye (good fundamental practice but i was like 14) and then a sem of some sculpture i didn't get much out of long term but was quite fun

also check out how cool it can look if you totally ignore what colors are "supposed" to be! saturated color over a contrasting background makes really rich cool oranges or warm blues. her hair is green!
heres a ~5min sketch. i think proper intuition of the faceplanes is really important since the face is such a complex thing. (my trick is basically running an asaro head in my mind which is why i say rotate shapes as an oversimplification)

having just one or two hypersaturated areas (usually i use desaturated shadows and oversaturated light but i've seen the reverse done in really cool ways) can make your colors really pop like crazy

i mean just look at how bright the skintone feels and then how midtone it actually is in the color range. i could push it MORE. that's so crazy to think about even though i do it often

Replying to @sunopticon
This is also probably harder for people with partial or full aphantasia. I don't have many helpful tips there.

and even if you can't directly 'see', you might be able to get a sort of mathematical intuition for it, if that's something your mind adapts well to...? i don't know how it works, but i do think some of my intuition has come from working the life out of my math neurons
