After years of hard work, dedication, and studying through war, displacement, and the loss of my home and everything I owned, I thought the hardest part of my journey was finally behind me. I was just one step away from achieving my dream of becoming a nurse.
But sadly, my happiness has turned into sorrow once again. I still have outstanding university fees that I must pay before the university allows me to rejoin my classmates and continue my journey toward graduation.
I cannot describe how painful it is to see years of hard work and dedication so close to paying off, only to find myself unable to take the final step because of money. My dream of becoming a nurse is still alive, but I am afraid of losing this opportunity simply because I cannot afford the fees.
Please, help me overcome this final obstacle. I don't want my journey to end just one step before the finish line. 🙏🫂💔

Today, an Israeli drone was seen stalking a group of local fisherman in Qlaileh, south of the city of Tyre, in southern Lebanon.
interesting that over 700 people i follow still follow this assistant professor of law/finance & self-appointed fundraising campaign cop 🧐
Ramy Abdu (@RamAbdu) has finally responded after publicly accusing two fully verified Gaza fundraising appeals of being illegitimate.
We contacted him privately at the time, explained that both appeals were legitimate and that we are in direct contact with the people involved, and told him we would take further steps - including legal ones - if the posts were not removed. He read the messages and replied “Go ahead.”
He has now chosen to frame basic protection of these families as “intimidation and blackmail.” Here is our reply:
> Who gave you the legitimacy or authority to engage in intimidation and blackmail, or to appoint yourselves as judges of who is eligible for support?
Demanding that you remove a post in which you accused two fully verified Gaza appeals of being fraudulent - and warning you that we would take further steps, including legal ones, if the post wasn’t removed - is not intimidation or blackmail. It is protecting vulnerable people in Gaza who are already enduring extreme hardship from further harm. That harm was caused by you telling your 200k+ followers that these appeals were not legitimate and therefore should not receive the support they actually need.
Furthermore, we are not acting as judges of who from Gaza is eligible for support. Anyone from Gaza (or their friends) is free and invited to apply to list their appeals on our website. Once we have confirmed that a submitted appeal is genuine, we list it. There is no “judging” involved.
Even asking this question shows a lack of understanding of how this works and makes your claimed concern about “illegitimate” fundraising appeals even less credible.
> I have countless concerns and reservations about your methods, yet I still assume you have good intentions.
You should have raised these “concerns and reservations” with us *before* publicly calling two legitimate fundraising appeals fraudulent and thereby harming their ability to receive the support they need. Our intentions are fully public. Yours are now legitimately open to question.
> Being in Gaza does not automatically make someone more deserving of support than others in Gaza.
This does not make sense as written. But if the intent was to accuse us of favoritism: anyone from Gaza is free to submit their appeal for listing on the site. The sorting mechanism is automated, fully explained to the public, and completely open to inspection (it runs in each user’s browser, with the source code fully readable).
As for the goals we run: here too, anyone is free to submit them via an open form. They are promoted on our social media accounts only after we have confirmed that the requests are accurate and in need of prompt support.
> When I called for an account to be verified and warned about it because there was no evidence that the person was actually from Gaza, I acknowledged my mistake and apologized once it was confirmed.
Not everyone in Gaza with a support campaign wants their identity revealed to the wider public. They deserve the same respect and right to privacy as anyone else. You had no right to publicly question their appeals simply because *you* did not know their identity. You did not even bother to contact groups like us beforehand. You also only apologized - after the fact - to one person, while the harm you caused affected two people/families. The second has still received no apology from you at all.
> But even that does not mean I believe this person has any greater entitlement to financial support than anyone else.
Our previous answer covers this as well.

Don’t hold your breath for Dems to end the Iran war. After their 2006 midterm victory – driven by outrage over the war in Iraq - Dems didn’t end the war. Even after Obama was elected in 2008 running on the promise to end the war - they kept it going. It wasn’t til Dec, 2011 that the war ended, based not on Obama's decision but on Bush's 2008 agreement with Iraq.
Bottom line: If history is any indication, Dems won't end the war. Power concedes nothing without a demand. Force their hand by supporting a people-powered peace party. Register Green.
In 2006, Dems won a massive midterm victory due to anger over the Iraq War and Bush's unpopularity.
The assumption was they'd end the war. Pelosi's first act when elected Speaker was to say they won't defund the war: in part due to cowardice over the political fallout, in part because so many Dems ideologically opposed ending the war, in part because they wanted to run in 2008 with the Iraq War still ongoing to help them win the WH.
Does anyone think the Dems will now use control of the Senate and House to just de-fund the war, as they clearly have the power to do?

Still thinking about this beautiful girl. Holding back her tears, trying to be strong as she watches her family’s home be bulldozed to the ground. The weight of the whole world on her shoulders.
I look at her and I see my babygirl. My babygirl who just turned 14, almost a woman but forever my baby.
There’s NOTHING I wouldn’t do for her. NOTHING I wouldn’t do to avenge her heartache. NOTHING I wouldn’t do to right a wrong like this.
Every fiber of my being screaming DON’T TREAD ON ME when I watch this video.
Long live the Resistance.

Democrats have multiple routes to force Trump to end the Iran war, no stupid nuclear deal, walk away. Multiple routes to cut all aid to Israel, flow aid into Gaza, pay for reconstruction, recognise Palestine, stop the war on Lebanon. From the tone on here I'm expecting no less

Ramallah | West Bank 🚨
Residents are appealing authorities to intervene and help put out the fire. According to local residents, settlers initially set fire to the olive trees one by one to ensure that each tree was completely burned. The situation in Burqa is devastating. The fire has engulfed entire hillsides, and no one seems able to stop it. Residents are desperately calling for help.

Israel has killed over 22,000 children in Gaza. These aren't terrorists. We're talking about kids.
Most Americans are so absolutely horrified and disgusted that our tax dollars, by the billions go to that country every single year.
That our military-produced weapons and ammunition have been used to murder kids, create over 70,000 orphans, thousands of children's with amputated arms and legs.

Jeffries being speaker would be similar to Pelosi becoming speaker. She rhetorically opposed the invasion of Iraq while pushing the lies that made it happen. As she was positioning herself to be speaker, I challenged her in 2004 (this is at @PressClubDC which I am now banned from for confronting Schumer):

Look at this picture. Look at how much humanity it holds.
I am here, bandaging their wounds. But these are not ordinary wounds. They are wounds of physical injuries, wounds of loss, and wounds of broken souls.
My name is Reem. I am from Gaza, and I study nursing. Sadly, I had to stop my studies. Do you know why? Because I can no longer afford my university fees.
Do you know what hurts me the most? I cry over a childhood dream I have carried in my heart for years. I cry for our humanity. I cry over the world's indifference toward us. I cry over the silence surrounding our suffering.
We survived the war, but we did not emerge from it in good health. We all need medical care. Here in Gaza, there are patients, injured people, wounded children, and people who have lost their limbs.
Who do you think these people need?
They need us. They need us to help them, dress their wounds, hold their hands, comfort them, and ease their pain. This is where true humanity lives.
My friends, all I ask is for your support so I can remain strong and continue helping our wounded people, the elderly, and children who have lost their limbs. I want to fulfill my lifelong dream of becoming a nurse.
Gaza is desperately lacking medical professionals, and our people need us more than ever. Perhaps your support can help me return to my studies and continue the work I dream of doing.
All of Gaza is wounded. All of Gaza is injured. All of Gaza is suffering.
Please don't let a dream that could help save lives die because of university fees.
Your support is the key to my success and the realization of my dream.
