the directing and writing of that scene... li si and meng rui stepping out from behind the screen and the fact that the tale is about lovers reuniting... then the way they are both framed with that line which mirrors li si's "confession" and meng rui looking at li si like *that*

people who think like this should have their AO3 access taken away tbh or any fanfiction sites for that matter
ao3 has got to be money laundering cause that site should not be held together by sticks and glue like it is when they get millions in donations every year
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
OTW, which runs AO3, publishes annual budgets and IRS Form 990s. Recent revenue ~$800k-$1M in donations, majority for AO3 servers/hosting/equipment. Volunteer-run with $0 salaries. Financials public.

my biggest regret adalah gak kebagian mengrui meluk lisi minimal sekali anjir 💔 itu padahal pas reuni pertama mukanya mengrui udah pengen banget meluk lisi 3 bulan nangisin lisi woy masa pelukan aja gak dikasih 😔💔💔💔
rather than shadow punisher season two (because i know we won't be getting yan and the chief back 💔) i would rather have like spin off or something where they just work on mysterious/supernatural cases as my favourite quartet 💔💔💔💔💔💔

The production company of Shadow Punisher has officially certified that the drama achieved both strong word of mouth and high popularity 👏 :
Shadow Punisher emerged as a standout historical suspense drama, combining rigorous detective logic, emotional depth, and unique Chinese gothic aesthetics. It achieved dual success in reputation and popularity, topping iQIYI charts with record reservations and character heat, dominating social platforms with billions of views and hundreds of trending searches, and breaking into overseas markets across more than 10 countries.
Precise casting led by Luo Yunxi, strong ensemble performances, and high standard production values reinforced its impact, earning solid word‑of‑mouth and proving the drama’s strength both domestically and globally. 🔥
