Your top priority in every moment should be getting into alignment. When you’re in alignment, literally everything is flowing. Everything is going your way. You are connected to the power of the universe. When you’re not in alignment, it just feels like nothing is working out. You oscillate between alignment and being out of alignment throughout your day. And when you become aware that, all you have to do is get into alignment and everything becomes easy. You can really start to calibrate yourself for more and more alignment. We can do this in a few ways. We can do this by quieting our minds consistently and practicing more gratitude every single day. This one little shift changed everything for me because there used to be a lot of moments where I was not fully in alignment and I didn’t realize it. I would wonder why nothing was working or why nothing was manifesting. And when I started prioritizing my alignment, I noticed that everything started working out. Everything started manifesting. I’m having way more segments of my life where things are really working out and flowing, all because I chose to be more and more in alignment and prioritize getting into alignment first before I do anything else.

This video is a great example of being "in over our heads." This modern hominid is trying and failing to process reality because reality has become too complex. The point of the video that was made by the hominid is basically "the food says the food is good, but then the food says the food is bad." One part of the bag promises quality. Another part of the bag has a government warning about a chemical in the food that can harm you. One really cannot blame the hominid. Our brains were not made to read about food. Our brains were made to recognize food that we already know and to accept it or reject it. Good food = eat, bad food = leave behind. This hominid is attempting to do its due diligence in reading the descriptions of the food before deciding whether the food is good or bad. And to be fair, the warning sounds pretty bad. So this being was able to go up one level from "good food good, bad food bad" to "bad food sometimes look good." And of course, the way that we identify bad food that looks good is by the label. They have to label it! The government makes them! Right? Well, what if you apply the same logic to the label? Sometimes bad food look good, therefore CHECK LABEL. But sometimes, meaningless label look bad! What then? Well, you would have to check the label of the label somehow. What the fuck? How many layers are there gonna be? (Hint: infinity) I'll save you the legwork: the California law that forces the chip company to print this warning is too broad by A LOT. It turns out that acrylamide is just the chemical that is produced when you brown your food. Fried chips? Acrylamide. Seared steak? Acrylamide. Toasted bread? Acrylamide. And yes, it is carcinogenic. If you eat enough of it, it does increase cancer risk. But you gotta eat a lot. Like a lot a lot. Like your uncle who died 18 years ago, the way he liked his steaks and burgers black on the outside and 4 times a day. A little fried food isn't near that amount. So the reality here is that chips are not health food, but you already knew that. This is not new information. It just sounds like it is because California is gay. So the real question here is not about the chips. It's about how we are supposed to survive in a world where things are not as they seem, and when you check on them, the checking is also not as it seems. How many times do you have to check on the checking? How do you know when you're done doubting the reality in front of you? You don't. Good luck.
How is that even legal 💀💀

This is the chapter of my life where, after losing everything, I self-isolate to reflect, plan, and focus. Then, I build a business from the ground up and become the best version of myself yet. The story isn’t over.

I could not stop laughing and screaming at the accuracy. Listen, when a culture is riddled with people that is the origin of it's on being, conversations like this is impairative. Most people that lack understanding would say this is useless or petty but on the contrary this is how governments run. Every detail about your existence matters.

I wonder how many people I could convince to drive to my ranch - an hour from DFW - to see a flying car in action? Or to drive it? It’s on unincorporated land…hmm….
I did something kind of insane. I just spent millions of dollars on dirt. 231 acres, 45 minutes from my house in DFW. In this post: why I bought it, how I plan to make money on it, and exactly what I paid. Here's the story. A couple years ago my buddy Jeff bought a ranch. And ever since, I've been watching his boys drive out there. Move a bulldozer around. Drive a skid steer. Bring in the cows. Build a burn pile after the storm. I admired that. I feel so strongly that having your kids learn to work hard is one of the best things you can do as a parent. And it's also one of the hardest. I think they're correlated. The harder things you do as a parent are also the most important things you do as a parent. I have four kids. I want them to have opportunities I never had, and I don't want them to be soft. A ranch is the greatest hard work simulator ever invented. Fixing fence in the July heat. Feeding cows when it's 37 degrees. Hauling hay. That will change a kid. It'll build something in a kid that no app ever will. They say business isn't personal. It is personal. This was an emotional decision first. But I'm a capitalist and an entrepreneur, so here's the financial side: DFW is adding 150 to 200,000 people a year, growing north and east. This ranch is 57 miles from downtown Dallas, in the path of growth. Worst case, my family gets a ranch that we love. Best case, the Metroplex crawls to my fence line. We started out looking at 50 to 100 acre parcels. Then I realized something: one day I'll feel stupid for not buying more land at only $10K an acre this close to Dallas. So we went bigger. The ranch wasn't distressed. I still negotiated almost $400K off the list price. Here's how: I uploaded the seller's appraisal to Claude. It caught that their comps were 60 acre parcels and mine is 231, and bigger parcels are worth much less per acre. It picked also apart the whole appraisal, caught a bunch of other stuff, and wrote my negotiation replies. My $20 a month subscription saved me hundreds of thousands of dollars. Another hack: My wife got her real estate license, represented us herself, and gave back 2% of her commission at closing. $50K off. Then I shook the seller's hand and promised this never becomes a neighborhood or a data center. That handshake is one reason he picked me over the developers. Relationships matter. So how am I gonna make money on this? A few of the plays: - The previous owner keeps ranching it on a grazing lease with me. He keeps spraying, mowing, and maintaining the fences. I collect a check. - There's a 2,400 sq ft shop on the property, already rented out. Another check. - Grass-fed beef under the 888 brand. A quarter cow sells for about $1,500 at roughly 40% net margin. And you don't need to own land to do this. ButcherBox doesn't own a single ranch. - A YouTube channel documenting everything. If it gets to a fraction of my main channel's size, it covers the entire ranch payment. Zero ongoing expenses. - Farm stays and campsites. Right next door is a tiny home community doing $17,000 a month on 20 acres. I have 231. - Maybe an Airbnb over the river with a plexiglass floor. Septic near a river is tricky, but everything's figureoutable. - I’ll use my own dozer instead of hiring one. Companies charge $200 to $500 an hour. Used dozers go for $10 to $30K and I’ll hire young guys to operate them and expand the pond for much cheaper. - Ag exemption. Property taxes on a ranch this size would be $45 to $50K a year. Mine are about $1,500. I don't plan to flip this. I'm building a barndominium out there, then eventually a house. I plan to own it for the rest of my life, and hopefully my kids and grandkids after that. What did I pay? $2.35 million. My wife and I got married on 08/08/08. So this is 888 Ranch. Three eights in a row make a great cattle brand. One last thing. If you've ever listened to the podcast, watched a video, or started a business because of something I shared: you are part of the reason I was able to buy this. I mean that. Thank you. I'm documenting all of it on a new YouTube channel, 888 Ranch Your learnings compound just like money does. Come watch mine. 888 Ranch site-- tripleeightranch.com 888 Ranch Youtube -- youtube.com/@tripleeightranc…

"Don't send the young. Send us." Fukushima, 2011. The reactors were melting. A 72-year-old grandfather named Yasuteru Yamada made a call. 700 grandfathers answered. Their logic was devastating: "Radiation takes 30 years to kill. We'll be dead anyway. Our grandchildren won't." Old lives for young futures. A shield made of grandfathers. They volunteered to walk into lethal poison so their grandkids would never have to. This is who we are. Japanese elders ready to die, so the next generation can live.

Follow Jack if you haven’t already. Been following him for years, but he’s started to blend Chinese medicine and eastern energetic medicine(s) with western health principles and he’s also quite skilled in circadian health + biology.
One of the most powerful things that you can do (and most don't) is sit in silence, focus on the breath, and surrender in the gap of silence between the breath. You can submerge into this space and then become the silence between 2 thoughts to enter pure awareness. The craziest part is that something this simple (yet challenging) will allow you to find the deepest answers inwards about yourself (self) than you ever did looking outwards (ego). You will be amazed at what is possible with consistency of this. The modern human doesn't need more, it needs less. We don't need to be more productive, we don't need to automate more of our job with AI, and we don't need more time spent on technology disconnecting us from inner being. We must not only strip back all the physical materials that linger in our environment that don't serve a purpose besides taking up space, AND we must strip back who we think we are, and our whole identity that's been governed by ego.

In 2015, at the ECHO Klassik Awards, pianist Menahem Pressler, then 92 years old, was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award. After accepting the award, he asked if he could sit down at the piano and play a short piece. He chose Chopin’s Nocturne in C-sharp minor. There was no orchestra, just a piano and a man who had devoted his entire life to music. The piece is not long, but under Pressler’s fingers, each note seemed to unfold slowly, delicately, and intimately, like a story being told through sound.

In case you missed it, my wife and I started a candy business that did $250k in year one. What people don’t know is what it took to make the first sale. So I’m kicking off a new series: “How We Built This Candy Truck.” I want to tell it for two reasons: -It’s a great story that deserves to be told. -It shows that bringing an idea to life is anything but linear. Today’s thread: SOURCING THE TRUCK. Let’s dive in👇
