We've noticed too many drivers slow to pull over when we're driving, or moving too fast and too close when we're parked. When emergency lights are flashing, drivers must get clear and move over. Details: ontario.ca/page/driving-near… Thank you! #YGK #InFrontenac

There’s no single leader in the Developed World that survives that “Obama - Ape” post. The UK PM would be gone before noon. France, Germany, etc. All gone. And the ones who’d survive - the likes of Putin & Xi - wouldn’t post it. Because they aren’t stupid. Except Trump.

To the family and friends of ICU nurse Alex Pretti, please share this tribute.
Replying to @NightShiftMD
@NightShiftMD I have never been a social media person but I’m an ICU nurse in Nanaimo and it would mean a lot to me if you could help my poem reach Alex Pretti’s colleagues and loved ones

Saddened to learn of the passing of Dr William H. Foege, a preeminent public health expert whose leadership, prowess and commitment to collaboration helped protect the health of millions of people worldwide. Dr Foege was instrumental to the global effort to eradicate the scourge of smallpox. His leadership within the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and strong partnership and solidarity with @WHO and health partners worldwide, helped advance and celebrate the life-saving benefits of vaccines. Above all, he was a champion for equity in health, and a visionary who recognized that investment in health is an investment in the futures of communities and countries. nytimes.com/2026/01/24/us/wi…

(Difficult to recall a comment that has more angered US allies than the president's offhand remark this week that they weren't on the front lines in Afghanistan.)
🚨 BREAKING: Keir Starmer has called on Donald Trump to apologise for his "insulting and frankly appalling" comments about British troops in Afghanistan

More than 850 non-US NATO troops died in Afghanistan after their countries signed up to respond to the 9/11 attack on the US, many of them while deployed to especially tough provinces like Helmand and Kandahar.
Trump on NATO: "I've always said, will they be there if we ever needed them? That's really the ultimate test. I'm not sure of that. We've never needed them. They'll say they sent some troops to Afghanistan and this or that. And they did. They stayed a little back, off the front lines."
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Of the reported 3621 coalition deaths in Afghanistan, 2461 were US personnel, the remainder were coalition countries, including the UK, at 457, and Canada at 159. UK (with Denmark and Estonia) and Canadian forces were the front line in Kandahar and Helmand. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coalition…

When Trump says he doesn’t know if NATO would be there for us: NATO’s Article 5 has been invoked only once in the alliance’s history. It was triggered in response to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States

Every word of this thread. #Measles is not and has never been a minor viral illness. Joe Rogan is wrong and has no business spouting unscientific fallacies about it.
Joe Rogan (born in 1967): "Measles is an infection that everyone got when I was a kid, and what happened was, you’d get sick for a few days...If you’re dying from measles, you’re sick, you’re already compromised." This is fraught with false & misleading statements 🧵

Homicide, mostly with guns, is the leading cause of maternal death in America. Gun violence is the leading cause of death among children in America. But this administration is focused on regulating … Tylenol.

🚨SickKids is seeing 4️⃣ times as many children visiting the Emergency Department with injuries from falls compared to last year. The majority of these injuries happen in the summer months, often from windows/balconies. More tips on fall prevention 👉 bit.ly/45wNyAg

Can we please see YOUR costed platform, so we can see how you are going to simultaneously offer very costly tax cuts and spending increases, while maintaining Trudeau’s new programs (dental, pharma etc) and balancing the budget.
After the Lost Liberal Decade, Mark Carney today promised $130 BILLION in new inflationary spending that will drive up taxes, food and housing costs. Amazingly, Carney plans to run EVEN BIGGER inflationary deficits than Justin Trudeau had already budgeted. This inflationary spending means higher taxes and higher cost of living. You cannot afford a fourth Liberal term. We need change so you can afford food and housing and live on a safe street, with a new Conservative government.

Zelensky is a wartime leader watching his people suffer and die under Russian attacks every day. To be lectured and lied to by Trump and Vance, as they defend the war criminal dictator committing these atrocities, is unimaginable agony. An everlasting shame for America.
There has never been anything like this. Trump and Vance look like children talking about accommodating Putin. Zelensky holds his ground and defends his nation… and the free world.

VOTE tomorrow in Ontario like your life depends upon it. Judging from hallway medicine, closed ERs and no family doctors - it probably does.

The crisis in health care is happening at all levels. Pediatricians see it every day—children waiting months to access care. In this election, health care is on the ballot. Kids can’t vote. You can. #onpoli
