Just out in @JACCJournals. @roxanne_coderre @swain_willMD and the @MayoClinicCV genetic cardiomyopathy team show that TTN truncating variant-positive individuals can develop atrial fibrillation AND ventricular arrhythmias before a DCM phenotype emerges. authors.elsevier.com/a/1njPQ…

More work from the Mayo Genetic Cardiomyopathy/ACM team! Doesn’t matter the cardiomyopathy, having >1 P/LP variant is associated with worse outcomes. Congrats to Dr. Nouraee @MayoMN_IMRES and thanks to @hrs_journal @MayoClinicCV @MayoClinicWSRGH.

Welcome to the @MayoCVFellows 🫀 family!! Congratulations 🎉!! We can’t wait to journey through Cardiology together!
AHA!! Matteo is the hardest working researcher I know - building databases of genetic cardiomyopathies and sharing the wealth @MCastrichiniMD
Check out our case with a great ECG finding!
Pericarditis can mimic other conditions, so this case is great for resident-level learners. Having a high clinical suspicion is key!
Residents' Clinic: When pericarditis is considered, investigation should include blood cell counts, renal and liver function tests, thyrotropin, c-reactive protein, and troponin levels, ECG, chest x-ray, and transthoracic echocardiograph.

ALT A pink ECG readout. Figure Left, Electrocardiogram at initial presentation showing rate-controlled atrial fibrillation with premature ventricular complexes or aberrancy. Right, Prepericardiocentesis electrocardiogram showing low-voltage QRS complexes that may be seen with large pericardial effusion, without electrical alternans. Rate-controlled atrial fibrillation is again seen.
