It’s with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share Dre boy crossed the rainbow bridge today.
He touched more lives than you can imagine.
He travelled over 15,000km with me.
I took Dre on during Covid at the lowest point in my life when I had some pretty bad things happen.
He literally saved my life.
I don’t have a partner and don’t have kids.
He was my baby.
He’s seen more of Australia than most dogs will ever see in their lifetime, brightened more people’s day than any dog I’ve ever seen.
I’m so grateful his last few days earth side were the best I could have possibly given him, given his condition.
Our family vet of over 30 years made the experience today as best as possible.
He had his full personality these last days, after a shocking start to the week.
His last meal was about 50 chocolate freckles which he gobbled up hastily.
I don’t have much more to say right now, it’s been a really tough day.
But I’ve started putting together a video I’ll always have to remember him by - I have over 5,500 bits of media that my iPhone found when I searched “bulldog”.
I’ll share this with time.

PS: I am so eternally grateful for the warm messages over this past week, especially to those of you who have been checking in on me daily (you know who you are).
People I know in the space IRL (and know how they talk) have nonchalant reply guys on their accounts.
IMO this is just as bad as automating replies to your account.
More and more are popping up and it’s literally something I scoff at.

When I setup @bot the other day the first thing I did was map out a new room configuration for me to be more suitable for a sleeping / office space.
I’ve got a pet hate about streams / content showing bed / sleeping area so this is super fire if you’ve got limited space to work with

On a positive note when I deal with grief I do super ✨PrOdUcTiVe✨things like empty my whole room and completely change it up.

Dogs are only a chapter of our lives and we are their whole life.
For Dre, he had 2 mums but I still kept in touch with his original owner for the last 6 years and even FaceTimed her for an hour Thursday night.
When I say his last few days were special, they really were.
Thought I’d share his last 24 hours.
I have 3 sisters, who all have young kids.
I got some amazing pics with them all, and Dre even got to sit at the table on his final morning.
He really lived his best life, like any animal that has ever been in the care of mine and my family’s.
