I think the UK feels like its very difficult to get ahead for your average person.

Please stop. I don’t want an AI summary of my Google search. I don’t want an AI summary of the text message from my friend at work. I don’t want an AI summary of the email I’m about to read. Please just stop.

It’s moved very quickly from mandatory digital ID to curb illegal immigration towards digital ID to buy alcohol in pubs. It’s all about control.

Keir Starmer is reportedly about to announce universal digital ID. Say no to digital ID. It’s a huge government overreach and infringement of civil liberties and freedoms. No one voted for this.
A highly qualified 30 year old who wants a family and a home big enough to raise one but on 2 x 6 figure incomes can’t afford one. Even If she could get a job which she now can’t.

Most modern marketing is finding a tiny numher of people who may want your product & trying to channel that interest
Rather than trying to massively broaden how many people are interested in it.

What we should do is:
1. Sellers pay for a full structural survey including valuation and EPC before being allowed to list for sale.
2. Sellers pay for their conveyancer to do all checks and satisfy ID requirements prepare contact packs and purchase searches before being allowed to list for sale.
3. Sellers put £2500 in escrow.
4. When a buyer makes an offer if it’s accepted it’s legally binding then they put £2500 into escrow within 24 hours.
Either party pulls out they keep the other sides £2500.
It would stop almost all the problems overnight.

Insurance policy tax
Investment tax
National insurance (tax)
Death - 40% tax
Yet town centres in decay, litter everywhere and roads schools prisons and NHS etc all in crisis
Where’s all the money going??

Deeply worrying that a former executive of Thames Water - a water company that is in tens of billions of debt - has been trusted to join a commission intended to repair the broken water industry. That is why the @LibDems are calling for an ACOBA investigation into the appointment

Let's say 10,000 people see your ad.
Perhaps 12 "people" click on it*
Why would we obsess over optimizing it so that 16 "people" click
Rather than ensuring the 9,988 people who didn't click, get SOMETHING from it.
Also reads well for why a coach is Very useful in sport, it saves you time in learning best practices by experience and shifting the noisy personal anecdotes on "what's worked for me" along the way.

From the Mr Beast "how to work here" guide.
Interesting how this mindset towards consultants is radically different than how Gen X/Boomers see them.

Do you know what really FUCKS me off? It’s the way MPs can have second jobs, multiple streams of income… yet still claim for energy bills. But they tell pensioners on as little as £11k, you gotta pay your own heating bills. It’s the audacity, you don’t get poverty do you?

I’ve moved to France.
School is free and compulsory 4 days a week from age 3 - glorified nursery essentially.
3 course school meals for lunch cost €3.70 and the kids can have as much as they want.
It works.
Why is it so much harder in the uk?

The biggest change to advertising in the last 100 years is something few people discuss and it explains a lot of confusion.
Prior to "the internet", advertising was generally large clients, spending lots of money, reaching large audiences, working with agencies.
The internet democratized advertising, we went from 1-10,000 large clients, to 10 million tiny advertisers.
The "average" Advertiser in 1990 was like a brand of shoe polish or a chain of sofa stores, a fragrance, or a big mustard brand or a movie studio, spending $1m +
The "average" Advertiser in 2018 was a local gym, a single hotel, an Etsy store, a "startup" DTC store, spending $100 per month
When anyone, myself included, writes about "best things to do in Marketing", or "Advertising best practice" or how AI will change advertising, we forget we have essentially 3 radically different industries in one.
1) Tiny advertisers we never cared about
2) Medium-large advertisers mainly selling things online
3) Medium-large advertisers like the past.
The dumb thing the entire industry did was to expect (3) to follow the playbook from (1), rather than expect each to be run, optimized, measured, structured in the way that works best for them
the game continues - vote for the next move.
Playing Monuments on X.
Game 1 post 5.
Yellow blocked Blue from building the Propeller so Blue built the Bar instead.
With one Monument built each, Blue is winning by the tiebreaker, the better Monument.
Help Yellow take the lead, poll in top comment.

Yellow has built the ARCH Monument and gets an extra placement but cannot block Blue in both places!
What should Yellow do?
