One request, three steps:
Core picks the nearest healthy edge.
Edge checks cache. Hit → serve immediately.
Miss → pull from MinIO origin, cache it, then serve.
No origin call on a cache hit.
That's the base CDN. Kafka keeps edges in sync.
I chose NestJS for the control plane, Fastify for edge delivery, Redis for caching, MinIO for storage, and Kafka for replication.
The stack was ready. Next: architecture.
I spent days researching how real world CDNs work behind the scenes.
The more I learned, the more fascinated I got, bringing data closer to users, reducing origin load, and serving content with low latency.
Then I realized:
Pravah was becoming much bigger than I imagined.
A few months ago, I learned System Design and came across CDNs.
I found them interesting.
A few days later, I saw a reel about building a simple CDN, deploy it in locations and serve requests from the nearest server.
I thought, “I should make this.”
That’s how Pravah started.
Someone really reverse-engineered the hidden test cases instead of solving Count Primes 💀

If an agent can: • Design • Code • Test • Deploy
What's the highest-value skill for developers in the next 3 years?
Curious how everyone is thinking about this.
