We have big plans for October to do another bioregional activation tour... this one will be in Cascadia.
Have a look at our ambitious effort:
regeneratecascadia.org/
I am being invited to give free talks and workshops in about 20 communities from Vancouver to Eugene. Our vision is to work with local organizers to grow their capacities for funding, governance, and visionary actions that serve the region as a whole.
This includes a 5-week "bioregional activation tour" followed by a summit in early November. Those of us who have been planning this for months believe it to truly historic and that there is potential for impacts to ripple across the planet.
Cascadia is one of the oldest, largest, and most sophisticated bioregional movements on Earth. I lived within its boundaries for a third of my life (nine years in Seattle; five years in Eugene) and I have deep love for her incredible landscapes.
Please help us spread the word to your friends that this is happening in October. Go to the website above to get involved.
Onward, fellow humans.

By misleadingly claiming that humans alone cause crashes, you are doing a disservice to roadway safety -- and also contradicting @NTSB and @NHTSAgov.

BREAKING:
Today @NHTSAgov revised its website, removing the misleading claim that human error causes 94% of crashes.
Car companies and state DOTs might still repeat that mistruth, but they can no longer cite NHTSA's own language.

Bottom line: Be skeptical – very skeptical – when a business owner claims the sky will fall if a bike lane is built. Suggest that they survey their customers about mode choice, instead of focusing on parking complaints.
And then build the bike lane.

The Dutch invest €595 million annually on urban biking, resulting in €19 BILLION saved in public health care costs alone. That’s how smart govts do the math on investing in better mobility.
Let’s be clear — it wastes public money to NOT do it.
