Gent in purple, "State pensioners who have contributed their whole lives are on a lot less than minimum wage"
"I'm very lucky to have a small German pension, and believe me, it's a lot more than what we pay in this country"
"Most of western Europe their pensions are much higher than the state pension in this country"
"I'm lucky I get a pension from the military"
"But people on the basic state pension, I reall feel sorry for them"
My view:
The full new State Pension is roughly £12,548 a year.
Someone working 37.5 hours a week on the £12.71 minimum wage earns about £24,785 before tax.
That puts the full new State Pension at barely half a full-time minimum-wage salary.
Government figures show that 12% of pensioner families received their income entirely from the State Pension and other state benefits in 2024/25.
That same year, around 1.7 million pensioners — one in seven — were living in relative poverty after housing costs.
A better pension means being able to heat your home, eat properly and see friends without calculating what you’ll have to go without afterwards.
It also means money spent in the communities where pensioners live.
After a lifetime of working, caring and contributing, financial security should be something people can expect.

Over 60 Muslim men raped Scarlett West from the age of 14.
None have been convicted. Her father stood as Restore Britain’s candidate for Greater Manchester mayor.
There was no national outrage, no wave of arrests, and no accountability.
Russell Brand, by contrast, is facing the full force of the justice system over an allegation involving touching a woman’s breast 15 years ago. If the evidence shows he is a predator, he should be punished.
That is how a functioning system works.
The same system has produced nothing for Scarlett. The men who systematically raped and trafficked her as a child remain free.
This is not an isolated failure. It is a pattern in which certain offenders are pursued relentlessly while others walk amongst us.
Where are the 60 Muslim men who raped a child?
Disgraceful.

Hope we give Frank a good reception tonight. Massive factor in keeping our club in the Premier league and for that, we will always be grateful.

For me Merlin deserves massive credit, improving constantly as he gets more games, even out of his natural position but giving it his all and works so hard for the team.
Got a really solid player who's only continuing to get better @Everton 👏

“WE COME IN PEACE.”
Gravelines, France. 1 November 2026.
This is the moment a group of illegal migrants chased me down the beach, hurling rocks at my head.
Look at the man in the foreground. Rock raised, face covered, charging towards me.
And where were the French gendarmes?
RIGHT THERE.
A British photographer being attacked in broad daylight while documenting illegal Channel crossings.
I wasn’t carrying a weapon. I was carrying a camera.
Ironically, this was only the second time in a long time that I’d picked up my camera specifically to take photographs rather than film.
And this is the photograph I came away with.
This is the reality of reporting from the French coast. And this single photograph tells you more than a thousand government statements ever could.

When the majority of football fans think of Bradley, we think of him with nothing but love 💙 We think of his family, his friends and all of the Sunderland fans to whom he meant so much. He'll always have a special place in Everton hearts

❤️ My beautiful boy deserves to be remembered with love, not hate.
Yesterday, a Coventry fan used a photograph of Bradley to taunt Sunderland supporters. As his mam, this breaks my heart. Behind that photo is a little boy who was loved beyond measure (pt 1)

Hidden away on page 111 of the Budget - 'The government is providing £150 million capital investment in 2027-28 to fund additional large sites to accommodate asylum seekers'
A treasonous decision.
Every penny of that should be directed towards a programme of mass deportations.

Mohammed Yousaf is a solicitor in Bradford.
He was caught on camera offering to help people fraudulently avoid fines for employing illegal workers.
He said he does it "all the time".
I've written to the Solicitors Regulator calling for him to be struck off.

I’m furious and heartbroken to see my country like this.
I could be prosecuted for this, but so be it. It needs to be said.
Our empathy is killing us. I stand with MY people, and they’re not my people.
Share this. We’ve had enough, and time is running out for France.

🗣️Harrison Armstrong on the recent support from Evertonians: “The [support] has meant the world to me and my family. In a moment where… I understand it’s part of the game and you’re going to have to experience moments like that, but for a fanbase to get involved and show as much support as they did, is special.
“I don’t think I’ve seen that before. It's given me confidence, it’s made me feel loved.
“And it’s cemented that this is the place to be for me.” 💙
