🚀 Tabularis v0.30.0 is out, and it runs in a browser.
`tabularis web` starts the app as a server: same UI, same backend, same connections. Local sessions are authenticated, remote mode needs a password or an auth proxy plus HTTPS.

📊 A query result should not need a spreadsheet detour just to show a trend.
Meet Tabularis from @tabularisdb, a free, open-source SQL workspace. Its October 26 release, 0.30.0, adds bar and line charts directly to query results.
Run the query. Inspect the rows. Switch to a chart without asking the database for another result.
📈 Grid | Chart: choose one X column and one or more numeric Y columns. Date columns default to a line chart; NULL values leave gaps rather than becoming zero. Charts use only loaded rows, with a 1,000-point limit—not the whole database.
🧊 Keep identifiers visible: freeze the first result column while scrolling horizontally, resize columns, or export selected rows as CSV or JSON. Those exports also contain loaded rows only.
💾 Daily database dumps: choose a time, timezone, destination and retention count, with structure, data or both. The schedule runs only while Tabularis is open; it is not an always-on backup service. Test restoration separately.
Why it's worth watching:
✅ A small analysis loop stays inside the SQL workspace: inspect a result, chart its loaded rows, then export the selection you actually need. Worth exploring for developers checking trends or investigating a dataset—not a claim to replace a BI platform.
An important upgrade note: 0.30.0 fixes an MCP database-argument scope issue in 0.29.0. If you use that version's MCP server, the project says to upgrade. This is a specific fix, not a blanket security guarantee.
The app is free under Apache 2.0, with Apple Silicon and Intel Mac downloads. Optional cloud AI has separate data-sharing and provider-cost considerations. This introduction is based on official documentation, not hands-on testing; check current requirements before installing.

The grid: drag or arrow-key a column's edge to resize it, and freeze the first column while you scroll right.
💾 Settings → Backup can now dump a database every day at a set time, with retention, structure and/or data.
