I would rejoin with the following: in spite of (or, even, 𝘥𝘶𝘦 𝘵𝘰) their being the outcome of a misreading, Kojève’s Hegel lectures are 𝘯𝘰𝘵 “flat-out wrong,” not by any stretch of the imagination. On the contrary, consequent history has proven them 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵.

I think Kojeve's book on Hegel is actually pretty good despite the fact that we know with 100% certainty that its a result of a misreading. Even though we can all agree (right?) that it is flat-out wrong, it's still a good book. And it's a good book because it is flat-out wrong

These are the editions of Shakespeare Marx owned before he moved to London, and he didn't get them back until 1860. And you can see this reflected in the accuracy/source of his Shakespeare quotations made in the 1850s
