GUNSLINGER ALERT 🚨🚨🚨
TATE SMITH, 6'0, 175, QB, Rock Creek, '28, he is a 3-sport athlete coming off a standout sophomore year leading his team to a sub-state win and an 11-1 record; along the way he went scorched earth on the opposition, completing 131 of 196 passes for 1,875 yds, 68% completion, a 25:2 TD-pass-to-interception ratio & an eye-popping 134 passer rating; with a strong, versatile arm, he throws surgical strikes in the short game with next-level ball placement & can go deep in stride or make the boundary throws with velocity; he also moves well in the pocket & extends plays without defaulting to run first; this guy is a gunslinger on the cusp of another huge season; keep grindin' @tate17smith 👊

Rock Creek (3A) edged out Hesston 17-13 to claim a Regional Championship last week in a hard-fought battle. Sophomore QB Tate Smith was outstanding, nearly perfect through the air as he went 17-of-21 for 166 yards, 2 TDs, and 0 interceptions. Both of Smith’s touchdown passes were caught by fellow sophomore Jacob Perkins, while Zion Bell anchored the ground game with 133 rushing yards and a TD. Under head coach Shane Sieben, the Mustangs continue to impress as they advance to the Sectional round, where they’ll host Cheney on Friday in what should be a great matchup. #sportsinkansas
