Proof that schedule discourse has been happening as long as motorsports have been around and also no motorsport discourse is new (from Washington Post, 1927):

If anyone has ever played the safety position at a higher level than Ronnie Lott, I sure as hell never saw it.

Wing Wednesday - Qualifying for the 1976 Indy 500 wasn’t easy for Jan Opperman. He had qualified an older Eagle on bump day, but was bumped out in a hurry.
Dick Routh offered Opp a chance to try his older VPJ Eagle. Several drivers had tried to find speed in it, but couldn’t.
Jan ran a few laps, told mechanics what it was doing, and they went to work. After some shock work, engine tuning, & new tires, they put it in qualifying line. Opp got the job done, qualifying P33. 🏁

We remember the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of those who were there that day, and the families and loved ones who continue to carry their memory.
Never Forget.

The Night Stalker RETURNS in Indy! Alexis is throwing it back in Indy with her favorite John Force paint scheme 🔥💀
It was 1973 when John Force attempted to make his Funny Car debut in a rear-engine chain-drive entry at Irwindale (Calif.) Speedway. Force named it Night Stalker and created the unique paint scheme based on the 1972 made-for-TV movie starring the late Darren McGavin. It was a less than successful venture, but Force went on to win the 2009 Night Under Fire at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio, running a Night Stalker tribute paint scheme, and it’s back once again and looking better than ever!
