The Charlestown Redevelopment Commission reviewed and approved new Charlestown entryway signage at the intersection of HWY 62/3. When improvements were made at 62/3 by INDOT, the previous signage was removed by INDOT to make way for the road project.

Taylor Seifker Williams presented various designs to the commission after receiving feedback from city staff on a concept. The approved rendering included city branding, sidewalks, flowers, and trees. The next step will be to request bids on the project, slated for 2027.

Sidewalk and street crossing improvements are underway at the intersection of High Jackson Road and Hillside Crossing. The sidewalk in the Hillside Crossing neighborhood will be extended to meet with High Jackson Road to better connect residents with Charlestown Middle School.

At the next Redevelopment Commission meeting, the commission will receive proposals to design and provide cost estimates for sidewalk and safety improvements along High Jackson Road. Designs sought request the expansion of sidewalks from Woodford Farms to Shadow Lake Park.
