No yall don’t understand, because Tim Tebow and Florida where on there knees CRYING after losing a regular season game. This used to mean something man.
24 team playoff is good. Who cares if it makes Alabama vs Georgia, Ohio St @ Michigan, etc mean less? Fuck em. It makes 8-2 Oklahoma St @ 7-3 Kansas St mean more. It makes 9-3 Iowa vs 9-3 Nebraska mean more. They made bowls meaningless and this fixes that.
And yeah, we’re probably gonna have a bunch of rough years to start out where Virginia is losing by 38 at Georgia, but that doesn’t mean we should just say “awe shucks 90% of teams will never compete!”
The conversation should be what can be done to further level the playing field for G6s and P4 teams outside the elite 10ish, not “well they can’t compete right now so lets build a system that makes it even harder for the Wisconsins and Virginia Techs and Arizonas and South Carolinas of the world to get access to the playoff.”
Work towards a world where there’s a 24 team playoff with 10-12 that can conceivably win it and every team is competitive in the early rounds, not a world where only a few select programs have a chance each year and all other post season games don’t mean anything

The idea of a 24-team College Football Playoff isn’t bad. More conferences get a chance to prove themselves, fewer arguments over deserving teams being left out, and more postseason college football for fans.
Sources: The College Football Playoff is nearing a deal to expand to 24 teams, per sources. The new format will start in 2027 and is expected to come together in the near future, pending final approvals.
