Today, I had the profound honour of visiting my father, former President of Nigeria, Chief Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, in Bayelsa State, alongside the leadership and members of my Campaign Directorate. My relationship with President Jonathan goes back many years. Beyond his place in our nation’s history, he is a man I hold in deep personal regard, a father whose counsel, wisdom and goodwill mean a great deal to me. I came before him to share my aspiration for Rivers State, the vision behind our RESET agenda, and the responsibility I have accepted to offer our people a different kind of leadership. I was received with warmth, encouragement and the kind of fatherly affirmation that strengthens the heart and renews one’s sense of purpose. I left Bayelsa deeply encouraged. The journey ahead will demand courage, resilience, sacrifice and an unwavering commitment to the people of Rivers State. But moments like this remind me that the path I have chosen is one I must walk with conviction. With God as my guide, the support of our people, and the strength of the relationships that have shaped my journey, I remain resolute. The mission is clear. The resolve is stronger.
