Good news last night: QuoteBuddy 2.0.0, a major update, is finally live
It’s more than a quotes app now:
• Mood check-ins with the mascot
• A daily reflection journal
• Multiple named widgets, each with its own quotes
• Optional Apple Health sync & iPhone Duo Display Support
apps.apple.com/us/app/quoteb…
Wrapped up a big update for QuoteBuddy (formerly DailyQuote) in my spare time over the last couple of weeks, featuring our brand-new animated mascot!
What’s new in this release:
Mood Logging: Integrated directly with Apple Health.
Reflections: Daily text & voice journal entries (Face ID protected with local & optional iCloud storage).
Full support and split-view layout optimizations for iPhone Duo.
The new landing page and privacy policy updates are officially done, and the app update has been submitted and is currently pending App Store review!

Dev note:
QuoteBuddy sat in "Waiting for Review" for 6 days for a major update.
I only noticed a new developer agreement to sign on Friday morning. I signed it, and the update went into review that afternoon (not sure if related).
Then it was rejected under 2.5.1: the Health feature wasn’t clearly identified in the UI. First time adding HealthKit, so I didn’t know about the badge.
The fix: added the "Works with Apple Health" badge next to the sync toggle, plus a review note and a screen recording on a real device. Approved on the resubmit.
If you’re adding Health sync, add the badge from the start.

The DailyQuote App apps.apple.com/us/app/dailyq… was my first attempt to build in React Native last year in November.
It’s a simple iOS app that delivers positive and motivational quotes every day.
But it was a pain to develop in React Native (even though I’m used to developing in React and Next.js for the web) because I had to deal with compilation pain in CocoaPods and a number of CLI build issues.
It took me almost a month+ on a part-time basis to get it completed and published on the Apple App Store, and then I left it unupdated for 5 months.
So in order to keep it easily updated and be able to iterate fast, I decided to switch tracks and migrate it to SwiftUI, which I am more accustomed to.
I started the migration on Thursday and spent just 2–3 hours a day on it. This is the promising result after 4 days with the help of Gemini including more fluid UI/UX, adding new features, themes, a new customizer for the quote background, fonts, and a randomizer for the background wallpaper.👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
Expected to update it on the Apple App Store very soon.

My guess is if you're making your brand new apps to support iPhone Duo split screen, the chance of getting rejected should be minimal
Here is how I handle the RetroCam app (apps.apple.com/us/app/retro-…) on iPhone Duo:
RetroCam is a camera app with retro filters, and I wanted to make sure the app feels good to use no matter how you’re holding the device, so I built out a few split-view tweaks:
Dual-screen split: Viewfinder and shutter on one screen, photo history/journal on the other.
Left-handed vs. right-handed mode: A quick toggle in settings flips the main camera controls to whichever side your thumb actually reaches.
Flexible orientations: The layout and viewfinder adjust cleanly whether you’re folded, unfolded, upright, or sideways.
It’s always satisfying getting controls to feel natural when dealing with weird form factors and folding screens.
Everything is done and built using Xcode 27 RC , so I’m going to ship this update very soon!

Downloaded Xcode 27.1 Beta this morning and spent some time updating HabitPath for iPhone Duo - foldable devices!
With a little pair-programming assistance from Gemini, I revamped the habit dashboard layout so it seamlessly adapts when transitioning between folded and unfolded wide-screen views on the iPhone Duo simulator.
Can’t wait to ship this as soon as the official Xcode release lands! (Or test it out on TestFlight soon 🚀)
Current version of Streaks - HabitPath is v3.0.0 available on the Apple App Store 👇

Building apps left and right meant my iPhone storage was constantly full of screenshots and screen recordings 😭
So I built Cleaner Pro to delete all the clutter at once! Dropping on the App Store soon

We removed one word from a client's app name. Install rate went from 15% to 34%. The word was "AI".
I built this new onboarding experience for the Retro Cam app last Wednesday morning over a few hours using SwiftUI, with some help from Gemini.
It's available in the latest update, version 2.7.3 (apps.apple.com/us/app/retro-…), which took a surprisingly long 2 days in "waiting for review" for just a minor update.
It turned out it was stuck because of a pending developer agreement in my account that I only noticed on the second morning after logging into App Store Connect.
After signing that, it was approved that same afternoon!

My habit tracker app - HabitPath just got updated (v2.6.5) featuring Live Activities and lock screen widgets.
You can now track your daily habit progress and watch your completion ring fill up directly from your iOS Lock Screen and Dynamic Island - without even unlocking your phone.

Incredibly honored that my solo project, Grown AI, is a global Top 15 Finalist for the Luni App Contest! Next up: pitching live to the international panel.
Grown AI is a privacy-first AI financial assistant for moms. It maps to your local stores to deliver daily saving hacks—like generic vs branded "Smart Swaps"—turning tips into active tracking tasks.

Retro Cam v2.6.0 approved in record time!
Submitted yesterday at 11 AM, and it was already approved when I woke up this morning (it might have even finished last night!).
I’ve had updates before that kept me waiting for over 2 days, so this was a huge surprise.
The secret? My theory is that pre-testing the build on TestFlight across multiple devices (iPhone 15 & X) gave Apple’s team the confidence to move faster. I guess a solid testing trail really does speed things up. Don't skip TestFlight!

I spent this weekend on v2.5.0 for Retro Cam, focusing on one thing: reducing cognitive load.
The real test of a daily app is how quickly it helps a user fulfill their intent. Here’s how we’re achieving zero-friction photography:
1 . 20-Week Photo Grid: Gamifying consistency. Think of it as a "streak" for your creativity.
2. Lock Screen Deep Links: Total accessibility. One tap to launch directly into your favorite filter/Polaroid frame.
3. Zero-Friction UX: Moving frequent workflows to the Home Screen to save 3–4 taps per session.
Updates like these turn an app from a simple tool into a daily habit. Coming soon in v2.5.0!
Current version 2.2.0 is live here: apps.apple.com/us/app/retro-…

I also built an interactive guide to help users set up these widgets for the Retro Cam app, written entirely in SwiftUI with the help of Gemini. It makes the setup process feel seamless.
Since I've modularized the guide's code, I can easily reuse it for my other iOS apps in the future
