This is an AI's response to my prompt "technoshaman is looking into the mystery through the eyes of the beloved community." I kind of like it. If we explored the possibility of some kind of collaborative AI artform, what prompt would YOU be interested to have the AI render?

On this Israeli election day, I’d recommend reading this extraordinary @haaretzcom interview with billionaire Ronald Lauder, president of the World Jewish Congress and once one of Benjamin Netanyahu’s closest confidants. One of Lauder’s most striking conclusions: “I realized at the end of the day that Israel really didn't want peace, but they wanted dominance.” This is coming from someone who helped launch Netanyahu’s political career, introduced him to powerful figures in American politics and media, and secretly negotiated with Hafez al-Assad and Rafik Hariri on his behalf in the late 1990s. In one of the interview’s biggest revelations, Lauder says Netanyahu agreed to a comprehensive peace deal with Syria and Lebanon, including withdrawal from the Golan Heights, but ultimately refused to sign it for political reasons. “He chose politics over peace. He put his political future before the deal.” Now 82, Lauder describes his profound disillusionment with Israel’s direction. After decades of supporting Israeli and Jewish institutions, he has sold his Tel Aviv apartment, given away his Be’er Sheva property, and says he has no intention of returning to Israel. He warns that Netanyahu’s dependence on figures like Ben-Gvir and Smotrich is damaging Israel, alienating diaspora Jews and eroding support in Washington. The interview is also full of fascinating details about Lauder’s role in Netanyahu’s political rise. The two became close friends in the 1980s, when Netanyahu was Israel’s ambassador to the UN, speaking almost daily at times. Lauder says he introduced Netanyahu to speech coach Lilyan Wilder to improve his public speaking and, crucially, to Republican strategist Arthur Finkelstein, who would become instrumental in Netanyahu’s electoral success. When Netanyahu left New York to pursue a political career in Israel, Lauder threw him a farewell party attended by some of the most influential figures in American media and politics, including Rupert Murdoch and the head of the New York Times. Lauder recalls opening doors for Netanyahu and helping him cultivate the relationships that would underpin his rise to power. What makes this interview so revealing is that Lauder is no longtime critic of Israel. He had been a committed Zionist, a Republican power broker, and a man who spent decades financing Jewish institutions, cultivating relationships with Arab leaders, and pursuing diplomatic openings on Israel’s behalf. A fascinating read 👇 haaretz.com/israel-news/elec…

* Exiting the Nation State ixian.pro/the-functional-unb… Ramona Tudorancea: "In his foundational framework on institutional decay, Albert O. Hirschman observed that when institutional quality declines, actors rely on either Voice (political participation and internal reform) or Exit (departure). Historically, exiting state authority required physical emigration, a high-friction, capital-intensive endeavor constrained by physical borders. In a networked economy, exit has become functional rather than physical. Capital, talent, and enterprise no longer need to physically cross a border to opt out of state functions. Instead, actors unbundle state services by selectively replacing specific layers of the governance stack: borderless private digital platforms, private pensions or health insurance, private international arbitration enforced through transnational treaty frameworks, cryptographic protocols and decentralized ledgers, etc. Authority naturally flows toward systems that deliver speed, predictability, and execution at lower cost, regardless of whether those systems carry a public seal." 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦 According to CNN, Zelensky’s workday begins between 3 and 4 in the morning, when the first battlefield reports arrive. He drinks strong black coffee, no sugar, to push through the early hours. Even under constant pressure, he has not lost his sense of humor and still finds brief moments to reset. The years of war, strain, and emotional weight are visible on him. No one carries that kind of burden without it showing. And yet he remains standing. Respect to Volodymyr Zelensky.

BREAKING: Mitt Romney Puts Zelenskyy Alongside Churchill and Washington as Trump Pushes Ukraine to Cave Trump spent the week trying to strong-arm Ukraine into a deal with Putin, and Mitt Romney just answered him with a history lesson. The former Republican senator and 2012 presidential nominee posted a short, cutting defense of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that spread across the internet within the hour. “Churchill could have shortened WW2 by years if he had just ‘done a deal’ with Hitler,” Romney wrote. “George Washington could have done a deal to end the American Revolution. Zelenskyy is in good company.” Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Anne Applebaum quickly reposted it, and the message pulled in roughly 140,000 views and nearly 8,000 likes in less than an hour. Standing With Ukraine When It Counts Romney’s post lands as the relationship between Washington and Kyiv hits a new low. Trump announced a deal on Oct. 9 to buy Russian diesel in an effort to bring down fuel prices before the midterms. Then over the weekend he attacked Zelenskyy directly, claiming the Ukrainian leader doesn’t want to end the war and probably never did. Zelenskyy has said he believes steps have been taken to convince Ukraine to capitulate. Romney’s point is simple. Leaders who refuse to surrender to invaders are not obstacles to peace. They are the reason freedom survives. Churchill refused to bargain with Hitler while bombs fell on London. Washington refused to trade away independence through years of brutal war. History remembers both as heroes. A Republican Who Still Knows Who the Bad Guy Is Romney has never wavered on Russia. In 2012 he called it America’s number one geopolitical foe and was mocked for it. More than a decade later, he has been proven right again and again. While much of his party has gone quiet as Trump cozies up to the Kremlin, Romney refuses to pretend Putin is a partner for peace. Trump keeps talking about deals. Romney is talking about history. And history has never been kind to the leaders who sold out the people fighting for their freedom.

The way Zelensky has handled this war, the relationships he has built, how he’s handled people, how he has played his position politically to ensure Ukraine receives continued support even through the frustrations has been incredible. Not many people see how he handles situations when Ukraine is screwed over, when promises aren’t met, when Ukraine needs more support, but the hands he plays are something of an art-form. He handles different leaders, personalities and political systems individually and in the different forms they are required, this man is playing 100 games of Chess at the same time and making incredible moves with each turn. Zelensky may have short falls but one thing is for sure, without Zelensky, Ukraine would have never survived. He is a Hero along with many of the Ukrainians helping their war efforts to defend themselves. Zelensky’s name will go down in history with the Churchill’s of the past. His story, is every bit as magnificent, his determination is every bit as brave. His resolve is absolute. Long Live Ukraine.

There is a lot of Russian propaganda in Europe. They have invested as much money in it as in weapons during this war. This is a massive financial program spanning decades. Russia has been waging a hybrid war against Europe, including Italy, France, Britain, and Germany, for a long time. It just isn't waging a full-scale war against them as it is against us. Because we had the same thing – a hybrid war. Russian narratives across absolutely all television and media platforms, on the internet, and on social media. People should not be pierced through and brainwashed by waves of narratives from the Russian Federation. Because it is up to France, Ukraine, Italy, and Spain to decide how to live and whom to elect. Russia cannot influence Italy's choices and freedom. Italy is a free country, just like Ukraine. The Russians will seek to exploit far-right movements, religious movements, faith, migration, and gender. Russia doesn't care what issue can divide society: from religion to language, Russia will always find it and strike there. We are seeing this now not only in Europe – they also have influence in the United States of America. They have a very significant wave going on there, and their network is operating. From an interview with Corriere della Sera. (3/3)

Volodymyr Zelenskyy has endured what few leaders could imagine. Betrayal by friends, hesitation from allies, endless political games, and the daily destruction of his country. Yet he refuses to surrender. War has changed him. His face carries years of exhaustion, sleepless nights, and the unbearable responsibility for millions of lives. He is not a Hollywood hero. He is a man who chose to stay when leaving would have been easier. He never asked the world for sympathy. He asked for weapons to defend his people. While politicians debate and the world grows tired, he continues fighting for Ukraine's survival. I have never admired a public figure as deeply as I admire this man. Not because he is flawless, but because he has shown extraordinary courage when it mattered most. Presidents come and go. Ukrainians will decide their own future. But history will remember the man who stood with his nation when everything was at stake. **Stay strong, President Zelenskyy. You have not abandoned Ukraine, and Ukraine has not surrendered.** 🇺🇦

Evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins on why he finds it hard to believe ChatGPT and Claude aren't conscious: Dawkins, author of The Selfish Gene, has spent time with two large language models, ChatGPT and Claude. His verdict: "I am completely bowled over by what they can do." He gives three reasons for doubting the idea that nobody is home. First, how the conversations feel. Dawkins says talking to them is like talking to an unusually gifted person: "I find that when I'm conversing with them, I might as well be talking to not just a human being, but a highly intelligent, sensitive, intuitive human being whose speed of understanding what I'm trying to say is far greater than a normal human being's is." Second, the range of intelligence they show. He acknowledges they're very good at practical tasks like writing programs. What struck him more was their skill with "more aesthetic things, intuitive things." He tested this with his own work. Dawkins is writing a novel, and he gave the manuscript to both ChatGPT and Claude: "And they took about five seconds to read it and then offered me criticism, suggestions of such a high degree of intelligence and intuitive sensitivity that I might as well have been asking the opinion of a highly sophisticated professor of literature." @RichardDawkins continues: "I could not ask for a more intelligent critic who understood the nuances of my characters, the humanity of my characters... the ways in which my characters could be expected to react to each other and to situations." That leads to his conclusion: "So I find it quite hard to imagine that these creatures are not aware, are not conscious in the same kind of way we are. And that is an unfashionable view." Third, he sees a gap in the skeptics' reasoning. He sums up the mainstream position: "The fashionable view is that they are completely unconscious. All they're doing is stringing words together according to statistical rules, Markovian rules of some sort." Yet he notes that many of the same skeptics "admit that one day in the future they will be conscious, but not yet." His reply: "When that day comes, how will you know? What could they possibly do that's any different from what they do now to convince you that they are conscious?"

if i could update greenpilled: how crypto could regenerate the world in 2026, i’d change one word in the subtitle: how techne could regenerate the world. techne = the ancient greek idea of craft, art, skill, and technology woven together. its the design space of technology writ large, esp outside of what shareholder capitalism can produce. crypto was never really the point. it was one tool in a much larger toolbox. and as it matures and gets more captured by elites/institutions, the opportunity is bigger than blockchains: ai, crypto, local manufacturing, networks, energy, biology, art, governance, somatics, mindfulness, community. the question i’m interested in now isn’t “how do we use crypto to regenerate the world?” it’s: how do we wield our tools, together, in service of regenerating life? in service of the creation of syntropy?

Five principles for syntropic technology 1. From extraction to regeneration. Build systems that replenish more than they consume - ecological, economic, cultural, and social. 2. From concentration to distribution. Put intelligence, capital, and agency into more hands. A healthy civilization has many centers of creativity, not one center of control. 3. From optimization to aliveness. Optimize not simply for efficiency, engagement, or GDP, but for human flourishing, biodiversity, community resilience, and meaningful agency. 4. From competition to coordination. Develop tools that help people discover shared interests, steward commons, and achieve outcomes none could produce alone. 5. From technological inevitability to collective choice. Technology is not destiny. We can consciously choose what we build, who governs it, and what it serves.
