That line hit because it goes straight to the argument Republicans have been making for years: who should American policy put first?
I’m tired of watching every immigration debate get turned into a lecture about what America supposedly owes the rest of the world.
A country has borders for a reason. Citizenship has meaning for a reason. And putting American citizens first should not be treated like some radical idea.
Gill has been hammering this same point recently while pushing investigations into birth tourism and criticizing policies he says put foreign nationals ahead of Americans.
At some point, you have to ask a very simple question: who is this country supposed to serve first?
