If you can spare a moment, please drop a quick line to the Classic Motoring Awards folks just to make sure they're fully aware of just why Bluebird K7 exists as she does & who is due any award. Please share. historicmotoringawards.com/c…

That iconic shot. Almost dark, fuse mended, a tiny flicker of flame because of the earlier failed start but nothing was going to stop us now. The beginning of Bluebird's first high speed run in 51 years. Pic - Phil Evans

This came up today on my feed so I thought I’d share it as I know there is a lot of frustration as to the current physical and political state of Blubird K7. Give the public showing Your Support c.org/L2ypQ9kBKG via @UKChange

I will concede they produced an epic hot start, much bigger and better than anything BBP ever managed …

😂😂 Hardly. But the project is by a professional Hollywood-type screenwriter who came asking & he does think Tom Hardy would be good in the role. Yeah, right!

Bute was solely for testing and training. No promises were made that K7 would even run, and most people who took the risk to attend understood that. The RM's festival was a totally different kettle of fish. They promised and advertised K7 running at speed, but failed to deliver.

Proper engineering by proper engineers. Engine prepared and bench tested before it went near the boat then run up and thoroughly tested before it went near the water. Just a great shame The Bluebird project and the Ruskin museum couldn't work out their differences.

I had to feel for the big man when i read that. I had learned during the week that they had ‘restricted ‘ the output. Honest to god if you had pulled that shit in me you would of been wearing my helmet as a gum shield 👊.

Correction. 38 runs. Missed two on the next page of the log.
A little perspective for you. Between the 5th & 15th August 2018 the Bluebird Project conducted a total of 36 successful runs on Loch Fad. The only ones where she didn't plane beautifully were deliberately slow taxi tests. One per pilot.

As for this 'restrictor' silliness. Only 2 things you could restrict. Air, engine get hot, no planing. Fuel, not enough thrust, no planing. Que? 🤷‍♂️
