False teachers prosper because many professing Christians don't read their Bibles. And many of those who read never read it with the meekness and humility that facilitates basic comprehension. Honest bible reading will fix a bulk of the institutional delusion that plagues the modern church. But it seems shouting Hallelujah and enjoying church vibes is more appealing to the average Christian than reading the Book that gives light and life.
