This to me is one of the best cold opens/intro to a sports TV show ever. Inside the NBA’ producers did a good job leading with Iverson’s 53 against Toronto and Slum Village playing in the background >>>>
With Ernie Johnson’s retirement from Inside The NBA looming. I encourage everyone to watch old Inside episodes/segments in the Pre-Shaq era. Watching these episodes made me fall in love with sports broadcasting again and also the early 00s nostalgia >>>

In 2005, I was a nobody with a book about the 101 worst ideas in sports. I basically cold-emailed Ernie for a blurb. He replied: "I was laughing out loud a few times while my wife was trying to watch the news" and blurbed this nobody's 1st book.
Forever indebted to this legend.
