PROJECT UPDATE: Dome-Kitase Road Project Government has taken a key decision to resume construction of the Dome–Kitase Road Project under the Big Push Infrastructure Programme. The project stalled following Ghana’s debt restructuring programme in 2022. Yesterday, Hon. Kwame Agbodza directed the contractor, First Sky Limited, to fully mobilise to site by the close of this week. Under the current arrangement, the project, which had reached approximately 27 per cent completion before construction stalled, is expected to be completed by 2028. The scope of the project has also been expanded to include 10km of connecting roads to nearby communities along the stretch. This is expected to improve accessibility and enhance connectivity within the area. Hon. Agbodza explained that the decision to prioritise the project under the Big Push Programme forms part of Government’s broader efforts to address critical infrastructure needs and improve road connectivity across the country. “We are taking the necessary steps to ensure that this project resumes fully and progresses without interruption. The contractor is expected to mobilise back to site by the end of this week, and we want to see sustained work until the project is completed,” he emphasised.
