NEW: In a Texas courtroom Monday, 25 migrant children lined the pews — a 9yo rested her head on the table, a 6yo pretended to fly an airplane, and a 3yo played with the mic. Many in attendance didn't have an attorney — and a 13yo was ordered removed. A look inside, thru sketches.

She should still have her job and the people that made the idiotic decision to fire her should be out of theirs.

This week makes me think we're over-investing in data centers for AI and under-investing in finding all the types of cats.

Can we try to get basic facts right - the ordinance has nothing to do with permanent tent cities but was targeted at, among other things, people providing meals to homeless people. It applies any public property and even private property in some instances.

This bill is clearly intended to punish criticism of Israel and is deceptively being sold as an attempt to stop antisemitism.

If you read the actual complaint and assume the government is being truthful, it is pretty clear she did nothing illegal and should never have been arrested. I suspect they know this and that is why they did not even seek an indictment.

This sort of idea will do nothing for public health and is just meant to punish poor people. Just look at who supports it and what states are also plan such bans. Hobbs made the right call.

If community meetings aren’t representative of constituents then politicians would safely ignore them. To whatever extent they have an impact it has to be because elected officials think the express what their voters want.
I think people who live in SF have a warped view. That is not at all what community meetings in my area look like.

Citizens letting their representatives know how they feel about certain issues is very democratic. Is it the Hoi Polloi you have an issue with or would you just rather only the rich and corporations get to voice concerns with elected officials?
