Hermes $RMS — once THE market darling of the "holding forever" crowd — is now down almost 55% from its record high and has lost 10% over the last 5 years.
That is a nominal loss, too. Inflation (and not just the official data) has been astronomically high over the last 5 years.
Ultra-luxury house, Hermes $RMS, is down 42% and dead money for 5 years now.
Considering how extreme inflation has been, shareholders probably lost a lot of purchasing power (30-50%), even if you're breaking even nominally.

you're 25 and you've saved $50,000. i salute you.
leave it in the s&p for 50 years and you'll have about $6 million. pity you'll be 75 and probably fucking dead.
and the next 10 years? i think it's zero, zero, zero, with a drawdown of something like 50% somewhere in there. i don't know anyone signing up for 0% a year. no thank you.
so what's a boy to do? that's my fat pitch, and i'll keep making it here. follow me if you'd rather not find out the answer at 75.
loading up on unico silver $usl.ax today. I'd rather be early than try to time the exact bottom on this.
if it hits 0.5 would be ideal but not much hype behind the stock means no easy panic sells either. that will most definitely change with otc listing.
Yesterday France announced tax of €0.055 per GB on internet traffic
Today Germany is considering taxing all AI-generated revenue
You will see European countries keep clawing more and more money from foreign companies as they are slowly running out of money themselves to pay for their pensions and welfare state
Add to this the planned wealth taxes and exit taxes on any European who will try to leave (already active in many EU countries)
Europe is running out of money
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The post inaccurately claims France "announced" a data tax; it was a narrow 11-10 vote on a budget amendment in a near-empty chamber, opposed by the government and far from law. German AI tax ideas remain unadopted ministerial discussions without formal proposals.

There seems to be an inverse correlation with spending money on social welfare and your economy's growth
It's like repeatedly spoiling a child, they'll just want more and more and will never be satisfied
Instead of teaching the importance of frugality, the value of money and not wasting it

But Europe has 35 hour work week, two weeks paid vacation, free healthcare, free education..and homeless shelters, food stamps.
Meanwhile China has none of that, because China only spends 8% of its GDP on welfare.
Nice to see legendary fintwat investOOr Ian Cassel pitch golconda gold $gg.v at planet microKap in toronto.
nice to see apparently legendary investoors now pitching gold stonk when random small accounts here were screaming buy #Gold in 2022.
but why would you listen to them when you could follow lEgEnDarY investoors who spend all their time posting generic investment lore on X all day?

Where's that silver haired fox michael oliver 😂 are your MoDeLs telling you to hide your head in the sand mate?
I'll bet next year he's back on the podcast circuit with the crayon eaters acting like nothing ever happened 🤣🤣🤣
when #gold hits $3600 & #Silver $45,
the narrative will change.
lots of former bulls will capitulate. you'll hear talk of silver finding support at $35.
narrative will shift to the tired great depression, 1929, deflation narrative that tired gramps & perma bears like to spew.
That's when you should be loading the boat on your miners. today we saw the first hint of real capitulation. actual panic.
🎯
The "next big trade" is up >200% from 2025 lows - bandwagoning on pullbacks should work but expect more voices to "discover" offshore if bull run goes on - in 2021 everyone was bearish but at 2023 double top $RIG was more popular on the podcast circuit than junior mining 🤷♂️

Can’t remember anyone stealing 6B worth of precious metals since Venice sacked Constantinople in the 4th Crusade. Inflation adjusted of course.
Binance's initial investigation suggests that the security incident may involve a compromised DevOps engineer’s laptop, which allowed an attacker to gain access to a service container and submit unauthorized withdrawal transactions. We have found no evidence of any wallet private key leak. We will share a detailed technical post-mortem once the investigation is complete and the facts are fully verified.
The estimated total impact sits at around $6.3B. We have worked with blockchain partners to freeze affected assets, with ~$3 billion frozen on-chain so far.
Binance will cover all losses from the SAFU fund and the company’s funds. User funds are safe. We will also publish an updated Proof of Reserves once the remediation is complete.
As an immediate precaution, Binance has:
- temporarily suspended deposits and withdrawals while security checks are completed;
- revoked the affected address authorisation;
- engaged law enforcement and blockchain intelligence partners to trace and recover funds.
Our teams are working around the clock to resolve this issue safely and thoroughly. We are working closely with our law enforcement partners to confirm the identity of these criminals and bring them to justice.
Please rely only on official Binance channels for updates. Please feel free to contact Binance Customer Support if you have any further questions.

in all my years, have never seen a market this f*ucked. oil should be way higher. gold should be skyrocketing. but it's not because the Iranians are apparently raising cash. oil is even more baffling. none of the technical indicators work.
newsflow is constant & full of red herrings.
whatever happens in October this year will be pure insanity.
