Work on Textpattern CMS 4.9 continues. We have many things we're looking at, including UI / UX improvement tweaks. Today I can show you a preview of the new look admin login.
First image is 4.8.4, second image is 4.9. By my calculations: ~19% prettier.
August 2020 marked the 15th anniversary of Textpattern CMS. The first release was v4.0.0, and we're releasing v4.8.4 after our testing is complete, likely in the next day or two.
Here's a quick 'n dirty timeline of Textpattern releases.
If you want `make` to have as much juice as it can grab, here's my current secret sauce:
make -j$(cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep processor | wc -l)
In approximate terms, that gets you 1.21 jigowatts for `make` to devour.
I've compiled PHP 8.0.0 from source to put @textpattern through its testing regimen before we release Textpattern 4.8.4.
This is the day Nginx 1.19.5 landed, too. I'm a giddy webops dude today, that's for sure.

The fifth and (hopefully) final release candidate (RC) of PHP 8.0.0 is announced today. I'm pleased to say that @textpattern devs have continued to track the RCs and we are looking forward to releasing Textpattern 4.8.4 with PHP 8.0 support very soon.
