Bob taught me many things about sports and play-by-play. But most importantly, he taught me how to be a professional. That every broadcast deserved the same preparation. And that a crew runs on it's stomach. We we're all so lucky to have someone like Bob in our corner.
It's a blast to cover so many great performances at the State Open. Congratulations to all of the athletes who showed off their skill on Saturday.

East Catholic Boys Golf Coach Tom Malin recently notched his 1,000th combined career win (golf and soccer) and if weren't for the thoughtfulness of EC All-State golfer Charlie Hathaway, the feat may have gone unrecognized that day at the course.
Hathaway quickly called the school office to double check on the milestone win. A kind gesture that E.O. Smith Coach Chuck Leavens (a highly successful coach himself) was impressed by and shared with CIAC. Leavens calls it, "Without a doubt the best loss of his career."
Malin, who was the AD at East Catholic from 1980 until his retirement in 2016, won 2 state championships as a soccer coach and has 12 state titles (and counting) as East's longtime boys golf coach. He was also a state champion basketball player in 1965 as part of East Catholic's first graduating class. #Legend @EastCatholicAD @EastCatholicHS #ctgolf
