Why does getting decent AC in an AC cab have to be an argument, EVERY SINGLE TIME?
I took an Uber Go for a short ride.
It’s been brutally hot in Mumbai lately, and as usual, the AC was on 1, so I asked the driver to turn it up to 2.
He told me straight to my face that I’d booked a Go, so the AC could only run on 1.
When I tried to reason with him, he explained the categories to me:
• Go: Stays on 1, no matter what.
• Sedan: Stays on 1, can go up to 2.
• Prime: Stays on 1-2, can go up to 3.
• XL: Stays on 1-2, can go up to 3 or higher.
According to him, these rules apply across cab aggregators.
So apparently, I'm supposed to choose my cab category based on the blower speed I want.
A bigger car, more legroom, a more comfortable ride - those are upgrades I understand.
But turning the AC up from 1 to 2, or even 3? THAT’S an upgrade?
Who's going to tell him that the compressor does the heavy lifting in the AC system, not the blower?
We already pay for an AC cab, and decent cooling is part of the ride, not a luxury upgrade.
Get real, @Uber_India @Olacabs @rapidoapp_.

🚨SHOCKING - FIR against Malabar:
A man walked into a Malabar Gold showroom in Bilaspur with a simple request: exchange his old 22-carat HUID-hallmarked bracelet.
The staff ran it through their XRF machine. Once. Twice. Three times.
Every reading came back the same: 20 carat.
They even told him the hallmark didn’t exist.
He called the local jeweller who had sold him the bracelet. The jeweller walked in, confirmed the HUID, and asked them to test it again.
Same machine. Same bracelet. Same room.
This time an employee adjusted something on the machine. Suddenly the reading flipped to 916 - pure 22 carat.
The jeweller recorded everything. The Sarafa Association arrived. Police registered an FIR against the showroom manager and the machine operator. The machine and DVR were seized.
This wasn’t a small local shop. This was Malabar Gold “the chain that advertises trust, purity, and BIS standards across India”.
One bracelet. Two readings. An 8% gap in gold value. And the only thing that changed was who was watching.
If a hallmarked piece can magically lose two carats the moment a customer wants to exchange it, and magically regain them the moment someone pushes back, what exactly is the machine testing?
Customers don’t walk into Malabar expecting a calibration error that only appears when they’re selling gold.
They walk in expecting the purity printed on their receipt.
The FIR is real.
The readings are on record.
The machine was seized.
Malabar still hasn’t explained why the same piece of gold needed a “setting” before it became 22 carat again.
Until they do, this isn’t a machine glitch.
It’s a business model.

There is absolutely no ceiling to how much I enjoy Man United failing. The limit does not exist. It will never, ever get old.

YOU'RE BORN. YOU SEE PANTS STYLES GO FROM BAGGY TO SKINNY BACK TO BAGGY EVERY 10 YEARS FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. YOU DIE. THE END
The ticket booking journey on IRCTC is so bad. Why would they ask for Aadhar Authentication only right after train tickets are available to book at 8 AM.
When I hit the refresh button at 7:50 AM repeatedly, why couldn't it ask me then?
Horrible.

For a little while, when time slowed down, the world faded away, and all that mattered was the magic around us. ✨

Agreed. Followed all these on my trip there a fortnight back.
Mistake many travellers make when planning their trip to #Japan
1. Buying passes which really don't give any saving benefits over normal tickets. Check here before buying any pass > japan-guide.com/railpass/
2. Booking return flights from the same city and commuting both sides twice just to take the return flight
3. Jumping hotels in the same city. Japan has a dense network of Public Transport. Don't waste time moving hotels while your time there
4. Have less days then stay put in Kyoto or Osaka. It's just 30 mins ride between them. For the other city do day trips.
5. Buying tickets to the fastest bullet train. The 2nd and 3rd fastest are cheaper and just 20 - 30 kph speed difference
6. Just because internal flights are free in sale don't assume you'll not spend anything extra. You'll still need to commute from airport to hotel at both cities + spend 6 hours changing cities.
