Cockelet et al. (1963) examined the impact of fibrinogen on the plasticity of whole blood and argued that blood plasma is a Newtonian fluid (at least at the shear rates that they examined).
Blood plasma was experimentally proven to be a constant viscosity elastic fluid (or Boger fluid (1977)) by Brust et al. (2012).
Cockelet et al. (1963) examined the impact of fibrinogen on the plasticity of whole blood and argued that blood plasma is a Newtonian fluid (at least at the shear rates that they examined).
In our work (2018), we calculated the elastic properties of blood plasma and proposed fibrinogen as a candidate for the elastic effects observed in blood plasma.
