“The positions that you hold today only have meaning in so far as you are able to advance the interests of #Uganda.” Speaking at the University Students Leaders Convention 2026 at the Parliament of Uganda yesterday, the E.D of @theJNLC, Dr. Nansozi K. Muwanga (@NansoziKM), reminded student leaders that their time in office is both a preparation and a responsibility for what lies ahead. She noted that people often blame others for holding them back, saying they would do better if someone had not undermined them. Her answer was direct, “You hold that responsibility. You hold that position. Make it count.” The lessons they learn, the values they carry and the example they set for the students coming after them will matter long after their terms in office have ended. #UniversityStudentsLeadersConvention2026 #JNLC
JNLC is proud of you @NatashaAhereza. Thank you for your continued commitment to servant and transformative leadership
Yesterday at @Parliament_Ug, I had the privilege of delivering a keynote address on behalf of @EAYLF_official at the University Student Leaders’ Convention.
I emphasized that students can shape Uganda today, not just lead it tomorrow, through service, innovation, honest leadership, accountability, and respectful dialogue.
My sincere thanks to the Office of the Guild Speaker @Makerere @TrevisMuhwezi, along with other co-organizers @NimdUganda @TheJNLC and @Parliament_Ug @ObothOboth for their financial support and for making this event possible.

However, as we embrace these capabilities, we must remember that leadership is fundamentally about people. AI may help us make faster decisions, but it cannot replace the value of listening, being present, understanding people's experiences and making them feel genuinely heard.

“The future belongs to people who are willing to learn new things to upskill themselves.” Mr. Andrew Jombwe, speaking on what strategic leadership means in the age of #AI, noted that AI augments rather than replaces people, and that those with domain knowledge get the most value from it. He encouraged young leaders to keep upskilling so they stay relevant, and to use emerging technologies to bring value to their communities

"..In a world where almost everyone is going to be able to use #AI as fast, as well, as more critical, what is going to make you stand out? There are going to be three skills: your creativity, your problem solving, and your innovation. " - Dr. Mutuzo Irene Esther

"One of the problems that leaders face is misinformation, and that misinformation can bring a lot of problems. It can lead to you making the wrong decisions, one, but it can also incite and and bring about all sorts of differences that may not necessarily be good for your communities, and more important, your ability to be able to use information in order to create spaces, in order to create projects, is really really important" -Dr. Nansozi K. Muwanga, Executive Director, Julius Nyerere Leadership Centre (JNLC)
