ALT Digital art of Vi from Arcane in red and black Noxian armor, with title text "The Hound of Noxus by subcritical." A quote beside her reads "For the way Topside... the way Enforcers... Killed my sister." She scowls forward past a lowered mask in her hand. She has crimson hair and muscular arms, and tattoos on her shoulders incorporate the axe-like symbol of Noxus above swords piercing through gears. She wears a dark shirt, red handwraps, and metal armguards, and a half-cape topped with fur hangs from her shoulders.
ALT A black-and-white summary page showing the Hound of Noxus symbol with title text, and the Part I summary below: "Take Caitlyn Kiramman out in the city, for each of her final days. That was the long and short of the assignment." "Caitlyn, commander of Piltover's last stand against a Noxus-Zaun alliance, faces a public execution in ten days' time. Vi, the Noxian who bested her, a Zaunite with a grudge, is honored to learn she'll be the one to hold the axe. To the dismay of both, Ambessa gives Vi a peculiar task in the interim."
ALT A graphic with labeled screenshots showing that "character death/survival spoilers" are available in the author's notes of Chapter 1. A top-level dropdown reads "Character death/survival and ending spoilers available here." Subsequent dropdowns read "Do Caitlyn and Vi both survive?" "Character deaths" and "Does the fic have a happy ending?" with the answers blocked out in the image.
ALT Digital drawing of the nightmarish, heavy-armored Noxian Vi facing forward with a menacing smile. She is broad-shouldered and imposing, has crimson hair buzzed on one side with spikes swept toward the other, and wears dark metal armor with golden trim, a red cape topped with black fur, a steel partial mask with two upward-pointing ears or horns, and pauldrons shaped like the heads of snarling wolves. The Medarda crest in gold is centered over her heart, and below it is a symbol of a skewered half-gear. Hard-edged black shadows cause her to appear partially fading into a solid black backdrop. Her mask's eyeholes, and the eyes of the pauldron wolves, glow eerily white. Two golden earrings are in her upper ear, and a band of golden jewelry is centered on her bottom lip. ALT A closeup view of the digital drawing of the armored, nightmarish version of the Noxian Vi, emphasizing her glowing eyes and sinister smirk.
ALT Digital drawing of a stylized three-headed hound, each head howling with prominent fangs, with elements of the axe-like Noxian crest expanded behind it. The text "The Hound of Noxus" is along the bottom in Arcane-styled, all capitals font. The design of the sideways-facing hounds is that of pit fighter Vi's two-headed hound symbol. The collar incorporates the bottom of the Piltover gear symbol, with protruding spikes. The axe is notched with a gear-like effect. The design is solid dark red on a white backdrop.
ALT A split view of digital art of Caitlyn Kiramman and Vi from Arcane with AU appearances. They have fierce expressions. Caitlyn wears a navy blue wintery coat, holds a Firelight mask, and has propped over her shoulder a Hextech rifle with an energy blade extending from it. Vi wears extravagant Noxian armor and the Medarda crest, and slouches on a throne carved with a gear motif.
ALT Screenshot of the ao3 summary of The Hound of Noxus by subcritical. Text, partial: Caitlyn made a study of the Noxian’s face, retook the sum of her image unmasked. Crimson hair, storm-blue eyes, the bearing of a wildfire restrained. This, the monster who’d made a mess of an unreasonable number of trained Enforcers, before their commander could react. A world away, in a struggle for Piltover's future, Caitlyn and Vi first meet on opposing sides.

ALT Screenshot of ao3 title and summary information for The Hound of Noxus, by subcritical. Chapter 30: Vagrant. Summary: Neither Zaunite nor Noxian, Vi navigates her birthplace like a stranger. She delves the past, and Zaun's deepest fears, while instability grows in the last place she wants to look.
ALT Screenshot of a chapter snippet. Text: One day, when she knew it was time to wake because her body woke her, and knew to get ready and head out, she lay still, as if to see what happened. Nothing. Her time was all her own. No one to bother her. No one to ask anything of her. No morning exercises, no fine-tuned breakfast from the chef. No family or gang or squadrons or nations counting on her to keep things running. No one for her to fail. No one to inflict herself upon. What a place to be. If she didn’t do anything, no one got hurt.
