Writing isn’t therapy. It’s the opposite.
It’s self-inflicted surgery with a butter knife and a frozen bag of peas. You’re wide awake, fully aware, elbow-deep in your own internal organs trying to find something that resembles a story.
Then you try to make it funny. Or meaningful. Or at the very least, readable.
But we do it anyway. Because somewhere in the carnage, something true bleeds through. Something real. And that, somehow, makes it all feel worthwhile.
And if that fails, there’s always biscuits (cookies to our American compadres). At least biscuits don’t smirk at your metaphors or bring up your unresolved daddy issues. Biscuits understand. Biscuits are our friend.
NEVER try writing without biscuits.
