criticism is okay when it’s not the same exact criticism directed at every single gay artist ever. the same standard is never held for our straight counterparts, who can freely release incredibly sex forward songs call a spade a spade. it’s internalized homophobia. it’s fear of seeing a side of yourself you’re not comfortable with. and sometimes, it’s jealousy.
