Tragic news: Hit and run-driver struck and injured Alexandra Betzel, 31, on her bike Wednesday at Addison/Kimball in Avondale. She's in a medically-induced coma with injuries to her ribs, chest and face. Her family is asking the driver to turn themself in.

We found that the most dangerous place to be a cyclist was on an arterial road—a multi-lane thoroughfare with traffic signals at intersections and speed limits exceeding 30 mph. Arterials accounted for 65 percent of the fatal crashes in our database.
