When my now-wife moved in, I thought I was allergic to Marlowe the cat. Was not super fond of him - just seemed be a nuisance.
We have to unexpectedly put him down tomorrow. Can't stop crying. Absolutely heartbroken. I hate how much I now love him.
What a cruel world.

Barack Obama at his last press briefing with reporters, 2017:
"I have enjoyed working with all of you. That does not, of course, mean that I've enjoyed every story that you have filed, but that's the point of this relationship. You're not supposed to be sycophants. You're supposed to be skeptics. You're supposed to ask me tough questions. You're not supposed to be complimentary, but you're supposed to cast a critical eye on folks who hold enormous power."
Power outages happen. Gotta be prepared but electricity is just a theory. Hard to track down issues like this sometimes, doesn't mean anyone messed up. The most helpless people on the planet right now are FSU ops folks.
When it went down at UW, it was a wire on the breaker panel that had come loose. And when it heat up, the vibration caused it to come loose. No way to check that, no way to know.

#USMNT striker Folarin Balogun on his immediate reaction to red card:
“I think it was just important to stay calm. I never want to react out of anger and out of emotion. There’s still lots of people we’re inspiring, little kids, boys and girls who are watching, and we have to show them the correct way to handle things, even when you think it's unjust.”
On shaking ref’s hand postgame:
“As said, you can feel like something, injustice can happen to you. It’s not an excuse to be disrespectful… I'm aware that the World Cup might be the first time a lot of American viewers are tuning in. So it's important just to show people, whether things happen to you, good or bad, just to continue to be yourself.”

Iran left a note in SoFi Stadium's locker room thanking LA for its hospitality at the World Cup.
"From the ancient Persia of thousands of years ago to the civilized Iran of today, the spirit of Iran remains alive and steadfast."
"We came to Los Angeles with pride, competed with honor, and leave with dignity."
"May peace, respect, and friendship prevail among all nations."
