X/twitter query: I am no longer getting noticed. I am an X lightweight, but good tweets used to get noticed. Has something fundamentally changed with this forum? I understand 'pay for service' but would like some transparency on how it now works. I expect this will go viral.

Neat resource from @MrsClarkEnglish if you need a starting point for a conversation around Disciplinary Literacy.
I have created a document to support our subject leaders with #disciplinaryliteracy across a range of subjects as a starting point for editing and developing into their own curriculums. Created with the help of AI to really drill down into key aspects of #literacy #edutwitter

This is a terrific way to explain why decoding is vital to beginning readers, not guessing.
* Reading Teachers If you had to teach a child to read Morse Code, you wouldn’t hand her the text below and expect her to focus on its “meaning.” Instead, you’d rightly first explain HOW the code works, and you’d provide lots of practice decoding individual words. 1/3

About to teach History Extension in NSW for the first time. If anyone has a good Program, scope and sequence or even resources that they’d be willing to share I’d be so grateful! Happy to do a resource swap if there’s anything I have that’s of use.

Post-pandemic gaps in reading scores will not just persist; they’ll widen, particularly among those whose essential early childhood and elementary school years were lost or thrown into chaos by the pandemic, Why? The Matthew Effect. @rpondiscio explains. gadf.ly/3yo0siz
There’s so much good practice on this feed. If you want sound advice on using Multiple Choice Questions effectively then check this out.
Thread: There are lots of great blogs about the use of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) in the classroom. I have shared them before but felt they were worth sharing again. As with lots of other approaches in the classroom, MCQs can be used effectively & efficiently or badly!

Are you listening, @smitchellmlc & @DamienTudehope? Teachers have had enough. Without real action on workloads and salaries more and more teachers are going to put their health first and leave the profession. #MoreThanThanks

10 years ago Barak Rosenshine published one of the most useful reviews of research into effective teaching ever written. It's a slam-dunk hit in the UK, but barely talked about in the USA. If you're a USA educator that has never heard of it, here it is: aft.org/periodical/american-…
