This profile won’t be deleted for archival reasons (no pun intended), so all the information will be available until the owner of the place decides, and I’ll check from time to time in case someone gets in touch. Email and Archives link is in the bio. Thank you all! Estanis

With ‘Fever Few’, our celebration of the 30th anniversary of @throwingmuses’ “University” finished yesterday. If you want to keep track of the Archives and enjoy what has been our usual activity here from tomorrow on, please follow us at: 🌵bsky.app/profile/thekharchiv… 🌵
Beginning from scratch & transitions in general are not easy, but most probably when #TMUniversity30 is done, The Kristin Hersh Archives will move to Bluesky in search of morning birds and stop all activity here. We'll hopefully rebuild there what we started here 12 years ago.

"I wrote 'Fever Few' in the studio (...) A woman visiting us disappeared into her room for a week with only a blue light on. Anyway, I caught whatever she had and wrote this song". (KH -@LlSTENlNG_PARTY, 2020) youtube.com/watch?v=go8XlUmM… #TMUniversity30

"It's not a matter of saying more with less so much as letting the music carry the song (...) ['Surf Cowboy']'s jokey title is deceptive; it's a gorgeous, melancholy piece of music" (John Blanco for Bay Area Reporter, 1995) #TMUniversity30 youtube.com/watch?v=oliBfC7c…

"We sat down to do the bio and the lady says, 'Why did you make a water record?'. I thought that was like a music business term I had never heard of. She said, 'No, I mean, there's like 150 references to water'". (KH to Melvin Mag., 1995) youtube.com/watch?v=r1Gk-fJN… #TMUniversity30

"I had a song called 'Dylan' on "The Real Ramona", and on 'Flood' there's a line about Ryder. Every now and then my real kids or my real husband pop up and it becomes a less universal song for that". (KH to Rip It Up, 1995). #TMUniveristy30 Also: xitter.cf/kristinhersh/status/12…

"On the little island where we grew up, the bank is next door to a bar. When I tried to take too much money out of the bank, the teller read my backstory & sent me to the bar next door, told me not to run away" (KH -@LlSTENlNG_PARTY, 2020) #TMUniversity30 youtube.com/watch?v=NGZ-tP4C…
