After 6 months of writing my local newsletter I started to dread it
Too much time researching and shifting through a million events and news to create something worth reading.
Thankfully @thelocalops was born and honestly it's made me not hate my life
Movement in the local media space with @6amcity acquiring Good Daily
Very AI focused.

I'm starting a Christmas lights company using my local newsletter... And here's update #3:
After getting mixed feedback on the idea:
• Some said “go for it,”
• Some said “rev share,”
• Others said “just stick to media.”
I did a little digging. Turns out…
There’s only one legit Christmas light installer in Winnipeg.
Maybe more exist, but:
• Nothing on Google Maps
• Nothing on social
• No one shows up when I search
Even checked a 48.8k member local Facebook group that maps all the best Christmas light decorations...
And not one person mentioned a single installer.
It’s starting to feel less like a seasonal hustle…
and more like a real opportunity.

Free trialing Local Ops app for newsletter writing and event aggregation right now. Very impressed. Could be game changer for me.
Well done @chrishume_

I love the fact that I can generate my newsletter sections each week without having to re-prompt over and over again.
Also, it's way more accurate now that I switched from openai to gemini.
Local media has been around for 100s of years
The game has changed in the last 10 years
But it has really changed drastically in the last 2
