Sleeves rolled up, muck boots on, joined in purpose across the miles… I feel fortunate every day to be surrounded by people building a better future.

You'll find yourself giving him your most kind & warm smile, wondering about him after you leave, and hoping beyond hope that you provided some warmth or connection in those few moments... which is really just something this world needed more of anyway. (4/5)

I finished it a week ago & took this long to talk about it outside of family & the farmers I know read it. Consider this a hearty endorsement & a big sign you needed to pop this little novel to the top of your reading pile. #GetHelp #rurallife #farmer #struggleisreal #BookReview

I got chills as this room full of @wifarmersunion members quietly pulled out their notepads & phones to write down @usdafsa Administrator Ducheneaux’s phone #. What an honor & privilege to meet OUR administrator and know he trusts us to call him as we work on that better future.

I’ve said before that many of the corporate abuses in the Jungle are frighteningly similar to the abuses we see from consolidated industry today. This is a truly horrifying example of how terribly companies with unchecked power treat human life. dol.gov/newsroom/releases/wh…
Corporate #consolidation hurts everyone (except the monopolists).

Well… there’s your problem right there. #uffda
Exciting that rural folks like me might eventually have some access to broadband... if the corporation that has a monopoly on my neighborhood sees some value to moving the end of their line out of the "underserved" category. usda.gov/media/press-release…
Being in the company of fellow graziers is always a balm for the soul. The @RiverCountryRCD Grazing Conference today boasted many farmer friends, @wifarmersunion members, and @JacksonRD talking about #CarbonSequestration, #RuralRevitalization, and… of course… grass & #grazing.

A pleasure to join an array of friends at @NFUDC’s offices to collaborate on leveraging #foodsafety grant funds to support small/mid-scale & marginalized farmers. It’s so fun to meet with like-minded folks to learn & strategize future efforts! @MNFarmersUnion @IAfarmersunion

If #PFAS are so widespread in our wildlife, I wonder what will be done to help America’s farmers to produce safe and healthy livestock (and other food) for our communities. I sure hope farmers aren’t left “holding the bag” for these terrible corporate cover-ups.
Some of the earliest flags scientists at 3M and DuPont raised to corporate higher-ups decades ago were widespread detections of PFAS in wildlife--which said higher-ups kept secret, of course. washingtonpost.com/national/…
People aren't free to "vote with their dollars" when all of the options are ultimately owned by a handful of companies. Small business can't compete. Rural & poor communities face economic extraction by wealthy corporations. #GetLoud #MainStreet #ShopLocal forbes.com/sites/errolschwei…

What we really need is to #BustTheTrusts that dominate every corner of the sector: seed, equipment, transport, processing - to the retail shelf. Amend our economic "soil" so small business, local community, the environment, & consumers can finally thrive. wisconsinfarmersunion.com/mo…
Yes, there have been some + developments in recent years to "support small" in the food & ag industries. But, they have been tiny compared to the massive need for help... and farmers know that even the best "seeds" will struggle if the soil is not fertile. usda.gov/media/press-release…
