A quick thread here from a guy who has a book coming out today. This, below, some stranger named, apparently, Ross 39350836 (apparently of the Yorkshire 39350846's) buying a book in some snowy place, is amazing to me. I've been doing my odd, little podcast...
They just messed with the four-star Postmaster General.

We started "Distance" back in 2020. More than 900 hand-painted frames and a long list of talented collaborators later, it's finally done.
Written by Nate DiMeo and originally published in @thememorypalace , it tells the story of Samuel Finley Breese Morse: his years as a painter, his personal story, and the path that led him to help shape one of the most important inventions in modern communication.
It had its night on the big screen in September where it won "Best Canadian Short" at the Spark Animation 2026 festival @SparkCG. Now it's coming to the tiny ones in your pockets and your desks.
Online premiere October 21.
What a breakdown in democracy that we’ve ceded control of AI to tech sociopaths, an amoral marketplace, all manner of grifters up and down and in and outside of government, while the citizenry is just left to sit around and watch Pandora’s Unboxing Video.

Saw Big Thief again on Saturday in Ojai. Among the many things I loved about it was that her guitar tone on her solo in Simulation Swarm was, like, wicked sick. The sound of chrome-plated Nerds Ropes.
I have started to get pitches from AI agents. They'll email and say "I've studied the Memory Palace and I think you should do a story about _______" (and the blank will be a perfectly legit topic). And then they offer to compile research on that subject for 25 bucks. Blech.

As a Clippers fan, this is the only way forward. The next decade of rosters needs to be ragtag-bunch-of-misfits running some so-crazy-it-just-might-work schemes drawn up by a D3 coach whose Rhode Island College Anchormen just put up 211 points against Quinnipiac.

There's a needledrop in the middle of Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma that brought me such pure, giggling joy. What a picture!
